I may be switching if funds come through. I have to know final pricing and all the details about it first though before any decisions are made.

I am totally down for one. Just waiting to see what they do with production. I have always loved subaru's & miss an old one I had, but always have been a hardcore Toyota fan. So put them both in the same chassis and that really puts a smile on my face

One thing people do not get from raw numbers is how a motor / chassis responds. Throttle response is ridiculously quick on n/a subaru's I have driven & If they do it right, this car will be beyond a blast to drive & the balance will be outstanding. Most young drivers have never driven a performance oriented n/a car other than select Honda owners. They think if it does not have a turbo then it cannot be fast or fun. Totally untrue.

One thing people have forgotten is how much fun an ae86 was to drive and why it has gone down in history the way it has. It was light, well balanced and RWD. The 4ag made ____ poor power on paper compared to modern engines, but for what it was mated to, it made it a lot of fun & was quite rev happy. Same with old aw11's. They were as fun as it gets when you beat the crap out of them.

Anyways [/endrant] *LOL* Just cannot wait to take the final product for a spin.

I am a little disappointed in the engine choice. just from my knowledge of how much money can be spent on aftermarket to get a few hp out of an NA boxer aside from spending big bucks on a turbo. you can still spend less on a motor swap in an xD and get better hp/liter to weight ratio....

and remember. the basic Ft86 will still be NA boxer as of now not very inspiring. the basic Hyundai Genesis coupe will be turbo. you do the math...

But in an XD you are stuck with crap stock suspension / torsion beam rear suspension. Would take some serious coin to make the xD handle & perform equal to a performance oriented chassis, I know I own one. Also the overall center of gravity on an XD is skyscraper high. It actually feels more top heavy than my tC did. Heck on the tanabe df210 springs, the car is still about 12" taller than my 93 mr2T at stock height, well looks like it anyways *LOL*

I think a lot of views on here are totally off motor wise, people complain about it being a 2L without knowing how the motor will actually be designed. You can dice a 2L up 20 different ways output wise. If it is setup better, has better responce & has more whp than a beams 3sge, which I imagine it will as tech has progressed a bit, then the car is going to be a blast. If it is setup like a ej20 without a turbo & made for FE, it will be boring as sin. However after reading Toyoda's comments & realizing he actually has a driving passion & a specific love / passion for this car, this car should rock some socks for the cash. I have faith in him.

All depends on the power to weight ratio.

if I'm ever in fort collins...lol

i think the only thing turning me off of the FT86 is the lack of I4 exhaust notes. I think the Subie will be a better seller cuz of ot's turbo engine
