Default 2008 Scion tC vs 2008 GTI..

OK, my friend has a brand new 2008 Scion tC, it is manual transmission with a Supercharger. He will be racing a new Volkswagen GTI with DSG transmission.

What do you guys think, they will be racing for money. I know the GTI has launch control

And the winner is the one who stops racing on the street.

I assume that b/c it is typically what people posting these "vs" threads are doing. If you're not, that's cool.

Regardless of where it is, the GTI will win. Same HP, same TQ, close enough weight. The car with the easier launch will win every time, which is the GTI, since the tC is going to do nothing but struggle to put 200/200 down to one wheel.

Yeah, GTI hands down, the DSG transmission really helps it out too. someday hopefully Toyota will be smart enough to put that in a tC if it last that long

^ dude doesn't realize guy in VW wasn't trying to play fair

< knows GTi would win

v should know GTi would win

Quicker shifts, peaky HP but low end grunt too, VWs are always quick if they are driven right!

Fact is-the caliber of the drivers will be the biggest difference-Vw would be faster car just car to car

Those graphics must have given you 40 hp, because your power mods only put you at 150-160whp.

GTI should win, but Driver skill could play a big role in it. If the GTI's driver slips up just once that could leave the door open for the tC.

A lot of people think its just the car, trust me its not. The all important driver mod is what you need.

Thanks, but he's just mad because he found out those vinyls don't add power like he originally planned.

Can't really consider the driver mod, since that could change the outcome of a race between a Pinto and an Atom. But that's why I said the car that is easier to drive will win.

I never said i was gonna beat him, just saying he kept up better then i thought he would. So mind your buisness if you dont know what someones talking about.
