Stock for Stock the STi is about one tenth to two tenths faster down the quarter mile. Modded though is another story, Evo's take very well to mods. The 4G63 has a lot of support behind it though seeing as it has been in use for many years now.

 

As a brother of an evo owner, I'm here to tell you, you'll need a lot done to take an evo, one of my best friends has an STi, you need just as much done, the Evo is in fact faster. Not to mention, my n/a box walks all over TCs with intakes and exhausts.

 

Why worry about beating them on the straights when you can beat them in autox! Coppermine18 is living proof. Disclaimer: "NO TURBO NEEDED" Then again it all comes down to driver ability.

That's right, you heard me correct, an MR and not the RS or the regular 9. The MR is faster than the other two although they have the same engines in all of them. However, the MR has a close ratio 6 speed where as the other two have 5 speed. Lot of mods on a tC....If you consider a ZPI Stage 1 turbo + a turbo back exhaust + a clutch....A LOT of mods, then yeah, according to you that's a lot. But to me, I'm on a stock block still, and as for the mods, they are minimal (to me that is).

I have this on vid by the way. 40 mph kick. The MR got the jump on me. But top end, I came back and put 1 to 1 1/2 cars on it. I'll work on the vid for you ladies tomorrow.

PS....also in the vid is an 06 STI with 3 inch downpipe upgrade, and a new tune upgrade (although if you ask me I think he upped the boost too... ). Only won 1 time against him. But when I did loose, except for the first race, it was only by a car.
