You are trapping 104, which is high for a 13.8, so I could see you staying up with one..

Nice time.

I've considered trading in the tC many of times for one but just cant bring myself to drive a mitsubishi.

btw, I think this topic would be better off in the autosports section
If the track time in your signature is accurate then your friend in the EVO can't drive at all. A bone stock IX should run a very low 13.. Even a mid 13 on a bad run. With a MUCH higher trap speed.
Stock evo's arent all that great from a roll. He had about half a car on me until 70 and then I slowly started to pull on him up until I shut down at 110. He isnt the best driver in the world and this is just a real life experience. Im not saying my car is faster than a stock evo, just happened to be against my friend in that run.

They are a blast to drive and can go very fast for cheap. I just cant bring myself to drop that kind of money for a car who's dash/stereo/controls look like they're from a 14k car. I guess I'd say speed isnt everything to me. Although their exterior looks almost make up for it.
I raced a friends Evo 8 from a roll and got him by a car length. He was stock, I have TRD SuperCharger, MMW Header/S-Pipe, HKS Axle Back...and now NST 9.5psi Pulley. Next time he said were going from a dig I know from a dig, he will kill me too.

But I do love the Evo's Im waiting to see what the X will look like/perform when it comes out. Since that is what I will likely be getting when I trade in the tC, Or possibly a STi.

ADD AWD, A Full Turbo setup, upgraded suspension, and we can almost keep up on a track... in a straight line we may push more, but that's against a stock evo... not an upgraded one... so we're always at a disadvantage...

I'd still like to school an EVO guy who thinks he's the best, just running stock, but a few bucks into a Evo, and it will still maintain it's dominance over us...

It's just a superengineered and well made car.... of course the price matches up with it as a result...

WDS....Your fogetting that's 271 @ the Crank. At the wheels they are like 230whp. When you are Stage 1 upgraded, your tC will be putting down anywhere from 250 to 260whp on just 8 PSI. If you can't take out a Stock Evo with your tC with those power levels, then you must be doing something wrong.

Nice time.

Yeah, he should be around a 13.5/13.6. Hence the reason traction effects your trap speed.

A 13.5/13.6 might be just enough to stay up with a bone stock EVO with a not-so-great driver from a roll.. But if you go from 1st gear it's going to be all over for the tC.

umm....13.5/13.6 IS from First Gear....on 8 lbs of boost. This is what IheartBoost ran with his Stage 1 on 8 lbs. That's Stock Evo territory, and is a drivers race if you can launch the tC good.

Now going from a roll....well, that's another ball game. You should be able to walk a Stock Evo.

Car And Driver

Zero to 60 mph: 4.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: .13.2 sec
Zero to 130 mph: .28.3 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 6.4 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 13.5 sec @ 102 mph
Top speed (drag limited): 149 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 167 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.92 g
EPA fuel economy, city driving: 18 mpg
C/D-observed fuel economy: 17 mpg

Give or take a few 10ths off those times for real world #'s, and it's a drivers race. Evo Trap speed in the 102 mph range.

Some guys have a trap of 103+ mph on just 8 lbs of boost, no LSD, full interior, tC. We have a fighting chance I would say, if the Evo is stock.

EVO's are trapping much better then 102mph stock.

If you think you can beat one from a stop, go ahead and try.. I don't think you would stand a chance.

I've been looking for one to race from stop or go. My friend has raced one from a stop and go in his boosted Civic Si. He walked him both times. And he is about as fast as I am. In a 1/4, I think I can get him, so with that said, I don't think I would get murdered in the least bit.

After seeing my friend in his boosted Civic Si (running 10lbs) take down this other guy in a Evo, I'm pretty sure I can tackle one too. My friends Civic was clicking the same ET's in the 1/8th mile when I was on that slipping clutch.

Walked an STI last night, it's not an EVO, but generally same in performance. I walked him hard from a 40 roll. Got vid of course.

From launch till about the 1/8th mile mark, the AWD's will have it. But if the other guy has more power than the AWD, by the time the 1/4mile mark hits, the AWD will be behind.

Hey Travis where can I find the WRX vid? I've been saving some money to get a Turbo, but then I think that I might get an EVO in bout 2 years. So, I just want the lil push to Turbo the Tc I guess, and stop thinking bout the EVO.
