Default The pony that ate my dust!!

Fellow tC owners something crazy happened to me and i need to know i should be proud or not... heres my story

I was coming home and a 2002-2004(not sure) mustang was infront of me. I was coming fast and had to slow down cuz he was going SO SLOW !! I started tailgating him but could pass him up due to oncoming traffic. I grew inpatient and finally went for it!! Right as i start going around him, i heard him downshift and bam he starts speeding up(It sounded stock). So i did the same and started gaining on him. I was creeping up on him and in 3rd i started double clutching(i know not such a good idea ) and finally pasted him up . he was forcing that poor ford . He was so angry he had lost to me he followed me all the way home. IT WAS CRAZY ! I only have I/H/no exaust(yet), agency pulley, and flywheel.

Ive told friends my proud story but they cant beleive it and blame the ponies lost on a bad driver. Ive heard of another tC in my are also beating a GT mustang.

Does the tC actually have the potential to beat these v-8s?? Please give me your input!!

i think it would be more logical to think it was the v6, with your mods it would be a good race, but the v8 would dominate me you and everyone NA on here

v6 stangs are beatable stock with a decent launch. I beat a friends several times. Highway runs she would pull me though. Granted hers is an auto though so i don't know about the manual v6's (if there is such a thing?)

v8's cut low 14's stock. no way an I/H tC would pull on it if it was trying. I mean, don't get me wrong, he could've just left it in 5th and you would've won, but you said you heard him downshift.

v6 mustangs are garbage period.

I beat my friend's ('01) all the time and when he was getting some warranty work, I smoked the heck out of the '05 v6 (rental car they gave him). I smoked the '05 so bad that my friend who's a Mustang enthusiast said, "I'm glad I didn't buy this pile of garbage, this car is crap."

I know that i saw the GT badges on it. I know that some v-6s try to be could and just change their badges. Theirs another tC in my are who told me that he beat a GT as well and he has a few mods over me. I couldnt believe it myself. all i can think of is that he was a bad, bad, really bad driver. but hey... a wins a win!

My friend Jen has a v-6 5speed Mustang, but it's still slow. I have many friends with 5speed and Auto GT's and they are faster than most would think. Two of them to give you an idea John has a Bullet 5speed he's in the mid 13's with minimum bolt ons, and Tiana Auto, Slicks, I/H/E 100shot is in the 12's.

if he followed you home you may want to keep an eye on your car. ive heard too many stories of people getting their car demolished overnight by road raging douchebags.

the race was from a roll tho correct? i was actually driving home today from work and pulled up next to a newer g35 sedan and we both slowly rolled the launch and he slammed the gas and i was at the end of first and slammed into 2 (i have manual with i/h/e/p, torque damper, and quickshift by trd) and i seriously pulled 3 or 4 cars by the time i hit 60. so my point is that our cars are actually quite quick when moving so beating a stock gt seems realsitic from a roll.

yeah, the v8 would easilly own you.. and with some bolt ons would REALLY own you. The v6s are not that fast. They can actually outrun a bone stock tC if both are 5 spds, but it is a close race.

Yeah we were driving. Like i said. i was coming up behind him fast and he slowed down on purpose. there was a point when he slowed down to like 20 mph. thats then i punched it. It was easy. i did hear him downshift. (i had my windows half down). He was trying but i was pulling away. In 5th he caught up to me and he was right on my butt. I didnt let him pass me up though. i kept blocking him and thats why i think he followed me home.

i pulled from a sc400 from a roll also when i first got my pulley 3 weeks ago, so our cars can move when rolling at lower speeds

How are you going to tell me i didnt do it if i was there! The stang probably didnt know how to drive but it was a mustange GT. It had all the badges and the most inportant sign duel exausts. Now like i said he might of messed up while shifting but it was a GT and i DID beat him.

You might have bet HIM, or maybe he was just toying with you so he could follow you home, but that V8 would kill you. That is point we are trying to make
