The other day I beat a 2005-2006 V-6 Mustang Auto, doing 90 he was still just sitting about half a car from my rear bumber and he couldn't gain on me, the only reason why he passed me is because my radar detector started to chirp...not risking a ticket for doing 90 in a 45 I have I/H/E also

i call a friendly "bs". there is no way in hell they are gonna let you loose with that rental. like the days of yore, the only way to drive one is to rent one from hertz, but they remember the seventies when folk just never came back and i "guarantee" they are gonna think you're gonna steal it.
kidding

If it was a GT, you wouldn't have had a chance.

Trust me. My 5-speed 5.0 with 155,000 Miles would easily kill a tC, and the 4.6s have more power.

You probably had a V6.

you misunderstood... i've been following this car as a rental. ford did this a few decades back (a rental folk can't own). people just kept them and paid the fees.

my point was blackonblacktc probably would do that as well. they aren't gonna give him one

DUDE.. when they rented these back in the 60's it was different than now.

its about 149 dollars a day to rent these, trust me bro, i have done my research. they cannot deny the rental.. my dad is gonna rent it anyways.. its my b-day gift (hahaahha) but he is 55 years old, with no tickets, and no accidents, and good credit.. they WILL let him rent it.

Ford Racing Performance Group is supplying its popular Power Pack (FR1) to add a genuine 25-horsepower Ford performance kick to the 300-horse Mustang GT 4.6L V-8/Five-speed automatic transmission powertrain and an increase of 10 lb.-ft. of torque. The package includes Ford Racing’s 90mm Cold Air kit, the Muffler Kit, a new X-pipe similar to the one used on the new Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang, a performance calibration and a cat-back performance exhaust for that throaty sound that will make this car unmistakably a Shelby Mustang GT-H.

btw, this car is carroll shelby, and he is not ford. check the link.
also, quite frankly the tC vs. whatever belongs in a different forum, so i'm gonna move it there.

he might suck at driving, but he might be better at grammar than you.....and no a win is NOT a win...if i race a kid with cerebral paulsy (sp) in a 100m dash, im going to win, but i will actually lose.

This thread sucks. And if I was in the mustang, I would have followed you home too for the tailgate manuver you pulled.

He probably slowed down, because you were riding his a$$ which is what most people do when they get buttmunchers on their a$$.

If he slowed down to 20 as you were go'n around already excellerate'n it sounds like ya just caught him off guard. That and he prolly was under estimate'n how quick an tC is. I beat out a guy in an late 80s 5.0 'stang. Eventho the 0-60 times for my Celie and his Mustang are closer than your tC and a new 'stang, it was pretty apearent that I caught him off guard. 'Stang owners are an over confident lot. Win or loose, its fun to teach v8 domestic's some respect once an awhile. :D

I will say this, I test drove a 06 Roush Stage 1 (bodykit, no power mods) manual convertible GT and that car was slow as *****. Even back when it was stock my WRX probably would have raped that thing. I don't know how much heavier than the normal GT the verts are but that car was weak.

If the older verts were that different in performance than it might have been possible to beat one in a tC. Was it a convertible?
