Thanks Captin Obvious.
Then why did you partake in such an act? Are you calling yourself stupid and dangerous?

Let's put a few things into perspective here.

1) When you own a Scion among these other nicely powered and generally respected cars, you are looked down upon in the community because you drive a SCION. It doesn't just happen here, it happens everywhere. We get bashed quite often. Here its survival of the fittest.

2) When you boost that Scion, they look at you like fresh meat. Now I'm not one to generally care what people have to think of me personally (I just hate stupid comments). The VERY first time I came back with it boosted, I was challenged that VERY same night. People HATE Scion's because it's a SCION. They don't respect it, and think it's worthless tool of a car and pointless to upgrade.

So, when I get challenged, I'm not the one to back down. I don't go out seeking races. They come to me. I have not once EVER challenged someone else. Being challenged by Evo's, STi's, 350Z's ect....and Having the Scion win....Is gravy on the cake when it comes to being treated with respect around here. You want to play here, you got to have some ***** or no one is going to take you seriously.

3) If you look at my videos, perhaps only 2 of them have traffic in them. 90% of the vids I have are on a stretch of interstate that is 2 lanes with a large medium section of grass, and then 2 lanes on the other side, no street lights, and 1% traffic. The race I made this thread from was done on that stretch of interstate, and then we moved over to the Nashville Superspeed Way to do some dig runs..

So, quite the contrary, I'm not dangerous nor stupid. I mean to entertain people with legitimate races, that involve no one but its participants. If you don't like them, you do have the option to not watch them. A set of new vids will be coming from me shortly, as I have a new mini camera setup that I plan on securing to the outside of the car for some side car shots. As well as some more Drag strip videos.

If you want to see me run the sti well you're in luck, I'll be running it in the 1st national rallycross event of the year next weekend (march 31st and april 1st) at nashville motorspeedway. Thats in your backyard so if you wanna see my driving i expact you to show. I'll be #114 in PA class.

I want the TC, I'll run the Z in the STi. Oh and it's not the car i think i'm taking, i know the xb can't take a tc with equal drivers...

So, you think your stock xB can take a Boosted tC with equal drivers? PM me when you hit the Nashville speedway, I'll be there.

50yrs racing experience...what are you 70yrs old or something?

PS...lets see the raw vid by the way.

my god shut the hell up both of you.. I hate online _____ing.. (not that I dont do it once in a while, it just ____es me off, lol)

but back on topic, thats cool that you guys were cool about it and talked after the race. 240s are pretty sweet cars.

oh and street racing is not that dangerous if you're running straight lines and 40 rolls. It's about just as safe as a track. Swerving in and out is where the accidents usually happen.. Not that I condone street racing but I've done it before..

keep reppin the tc for us rhythm...

So, why can't you do all of this at the track? A race isn't legitimate without proof. You can't get proof on the street without a video camera. At a track the proof is always black and white (winner) (or black and yellow (loser)...at least at the track I go to). Yes, in a perfect world I'd like to say that people who don't partake in street racing don't get hurt, but that is far from the truth. It's all entertainment until someone gets hurt or killed.
You are the reason why people look down on Scion owners. You cause every other person on the street to have a stigma about us. How about trying to be the bigger person and let them and their car community get the bashing by other drivers.

no i said with equal drivers the Tc would smoke it, only the sti is coming to nashville and i doubt i'll have the laptop with me, but i may bring it down.

I'll have to have my techincal producer email me the raw video snippets of the xb, were we filming out the back of it for an episode.

I definitely understand the people wanting to race a TC and hating on scions. I'm not trying to make that the case. I'm just hating on the OMGZ I fRagged anothe !1!!1!! talk and hype. As someone who has been a marketing director of a company that is a MAJOR sponsor of NHRA and IHRA and a contingency sponsor of racers in the series if i ever heard a person we sponsored was taking part in such activites or boasting about them online you bet I'd shred that sponsorship agreement immediately. Thus seeing you're sponsored and taking part in such acts really steamed me.

The price of a ZPI Stage 1 turbo kit (or comparable )+ Exhaust + Clutch to hold the power. Turn up to 10lbs of boost, and you got yourself a 290-300whp with about 300+lbs of tq tC.

Thanks man. I concur, it takes a moron to screw up going from 40mph in a straight line with nothing in front of him.

(then again, I do run into the occassional Moron now and again)...

What point of "I've been to the track" did you miss? How would I say that there were 10sec, 11sec, 12sec cars here if we didn't race at a track? I don't just make this stuff up.

Oh, Honorable mention goes out to the Red Evo we have here with the GT35R on it....Damn that thing is sick.

PS....you mentioned Video camera on the street....ALL OF MY RACES are video tapped. There is not a single person on SL with more race videos than me. Apparently you haven't been around SL that long to know this, so you should just search for my screen name to find them. Or perhaps go to youtube and search for them.

This race in particualr just so happen to be a spare of the moment race. 90% of the time, When we hit the spot, Races are Setup. People call you out, and I always carry my camera.

And that last part you mentioned about being the bigger person.....Yeah, I'm sure you have to contend with a lot where you are being that you have a fast Scion.. Yeah, don't think you have to worry about that to much seeing as how your box isn't exactly challengeable by a SR20 240sx.

LOL....it's funny you say that about the sponsor being angry. ZPI racing...STARTED their turbo kit recognization....BY street racing faster cars. Kenny is a Street Racer by nature.

Here is this food for thought.

MOST, not all, but quite a few Professional drag racers.....STARTED by Street Racing...

I don't need a pep talk, history lesson.

And about the xB with equal drivers against the tC. Early, I was under the impression that you were saying that your stock xB will smoke me on a road course, because you felt you were a better driver than me in our tC. If I read that wrong, correct me, and tell me exactly what your intentions are in provoking a race.

I would have to perhaps be the worst driver in the world if I'm to loose in our boosted tC to a completely stock xB. Now if you said something more along the lines of AutoX'ing, then I would say you have a better chance. AutoX is not all about power, and it would be hard to pilot a Boosted tC with such sharp turns, because of the quick and rather abrupt power of the 16G on this car. But a road course where there is sweeping turns and straights.....yeah..are car would have to break down before I see that happening.

With the amount of Neons you have, you would be laughed at here.

(no offense, I'm not this way, just telling you what type of community we live in. they are rather ruthless here).

We have two crew memembers in our chapter who have Neon Green lights under there car. When we took a group photo, and I posted it on our local TN forum, everyone gave props. But of course someone commented on the F&F two with the Green Neons, and made fun of them sorta. But on a whole, because we are now 40+ Scion members for the Nashville Scikotics club here, I don't have to push the Scion Front all by myslef. I have help now, and one of them is soon to be a 500hp terror.

But for nearly a year, I was the ONLY Scion in a sea of 50+ cars that hang out at the spot. I had to fight for respect. Only way to do that is accept my challengers, and crush them all. If I didn't win, I made damn sure I only lost by no more than a car at Max.

When you can Walk all over an 06 STI and then the guy goes back home, mods his car some more, and ask for a rematch....That's Respect here.

I've owned two 1989 240sx's and a 1983 Datsun 280zx T-Top Turbo. Don't jump on me about Nissan performance. I was raised by a NISMO fanatic.
I know all about my xB and it's performance issues. I didn't buy it to race with. I bought it because I've been wanting one for 3 years prior to them ever hitting the United States.
I did read the part about the videos, but did you ever give thought that videos of illegal street racing could get you in trouble? Or that you could give other Scion owners a bad name?

I've been around ScionLife for so long man. I think back in 2004 I've been here. I am a Veteran here. Scion owners having a bad name because of me waxing on cars considered to be fast......NAW, quite the contrary.

You obviously have never seen our car, Nor a vid of it. I'll be kind enough to do both for you.

You have a nice car. Congratulations. This still doesn't help me understand why you thought racing on the interstate was a good idea.

Funny thing is, it's technically my fiances car. I just built it for her. She loves to race just as much as me.

I'm not going to try and justify street racing, because anything I say will ultimately be "Not good enough" for your standards. So, this is just what we do. I take steps to make it as safe as possible.

You would have to live here to experience this.

PS...in the group pics above, we had about 16 Cars that night for the meet. We all rolled down to the spot 16 Cars deep, and represented Scion's to the fullest.

dave and kenny burscher (sp) have done their share of street racing in the past, way back in the DSM days. But i know dave does not condone that anymore.

and yes many pro dragster drivers start street racing, but then they grow up and move on to bigger, better and smarter things that pay the bills.

just like i don't expect travis pastrana to show up to nashville, he's moved on from that, 3 years ago yeah he'd be there but not now, he's grown on and become better.

btw i have to say i'm lovin' the CF fenders, I do really really like the look of your car, and I'm not a "looks" guy when it comes to cars

no offense taken i understand but see thats what i dont get.... your tellin me im trying to be all fast and the furious like cause i have red underglow, (i like how it looks thats the only reason why i got it.) but you guys arent trying to be all fast and furious like streetracing for respect and what not (isnt that what they did in those movies)?

idk i liked those movies cause they had cool looking cars and hot girls that doesnt mean i take any automotive knowledge from them or try to be like anyone in those movies.

the whole fast and the furious hating thing seems kinda dumb to me, i dont know how old you are but this is like when i was back in the sixth grade and everyone pretended not to like pokemon.
