Yes, there is more cabin noise, car vibration, etc. All apart of building your car to go faster. I like noise though, so I'm biased. Our car when it's spooling sounds like a damn jet that just fired up it's engines.

PS...make sure you go to your local Electronics store and pick up some Sound deading material.

If that works anything like a torque strap, it might actually contribute to the problem of wheel hop... if the chassis is made to move with the engine, its just that much more movement that the suspension has to deal with. From the sounds of it the shock would be an improvement over a torque strap, but it seems to me like a trade off - you get more torque to the wheels because you don't lose a little bit with the engine moving, but you get the chassis moving a little with the engine, and you lose some traction in the suspension.

I might be talking out my butt about this since I don't have experience with these shocks, but with torque straps I'm very familiar with the benefits and the drawbacks. Seems like you would have less benefit and less drawback.

If I say it works, then why try to make it complicated with Theories? It works, just leave it at that.

Because it could be that you're not getting the full benefit unless you also upgrade the suspension.

You are thinking to hard...

We are talking about 1 person in particular, who happens to have TRD springs and upgraded Sway bars.

It's all relevant. You don't get the full benefit of a turbo if you don't have good tires, you don't get the full benefit of strut bars if you don't have upgraded suspension, you dont....well, you get the idea. Trust me, it's a good investment to have a ETD depsite the fact if you have upgraded suspension or not. The Bloody thing Works! It may not eliminate 100% of your wheel hop, but a vast majority of it, to notice a difference. Not to mention, but 95% of the time suspension is like one of the first mods a tuner does to his/her car.

But you gotta love the theoretical people anyhow..

with that trap i know i can get into the 13s, i just need better tires i was launching at like 2krpms, i had horrible wheel-hop the whole time

there was an 05 civic with a 1.7L turbo setup pushing 11psi who i beat every time...he was getting a little upset, so he found himself some drag radials and finally caught up with me
you prolly could've hit like 13.9999 (you get the point) if you didnt have a full tank of gas. you don't need a full tank to do 1/4 miles. every gallon of gas weighs about 6 pounds. our gas tanks hold 14.5 gallons. next time run it on maybe 2 gallons of gas and you'll save yourself 75 pounds. also consider taking out the spare tire.

Heh. Back in the day we called it "bench racing". But I could at least back it up, used to run 13's all day long. That wouldn't put me in any record books, but it was quicker than most people could go.

Didn't realize he had the suspension already upgraded... mentioning wheel hop made me think it was stock. My bad.

LOL...It's all good man, just teasing ya.. I've had wheel hop in 2nd gear before, when I was trying to relearn how to launch now being boosted. It's a slightly different ball game.

well ive had the ingalls ETD installed for about a week now, def a huge improvement with launching hard even on the street. driving around town is improved too, the engine just feels that much more solid with the chassis. extra vibration in the cabin was def noticable but nothing horrible/unlivable. i would strongly recommend this to anyone with FI.

as for hard numbers, I wanted to go to the track fri but forgot about a wedding i had to go to (oops) and this coming friday i have to start a trubo install on an integra customer of mine ;) as soon as i make it back i will post numbers tho.
