Default tC vs. Mustang

So, I got my tC on the 13th and have been driving it constantly sense then (it's now the 16th). I have about 100miles on it and still have over half a tank of gas ^_^. Everyone is amazed at my car so far and a lot of people want to race me. Most people are joking but I take a few seriously because I used to race them (jokingly) in my civic. Here's a list of my three competitors...

Shawn - Camaro (2000? 3.8 v6)
Ivan - Crown Vic (old model; around 220hp or so)
Kyle - Mustang (2003? v6 coup w/ intake)
Brandon - Porche Boxer (does it matter what class?)

First off, all of my friend's cars, except the Porche, are auto and I just learned how to drive stick the saturday that I got my tC.

Anyway, my first 2 races were jokes against my friends Nissan Frontier and another kids Dodge Ram (5.7L?). Kill'd 'em both of course. Then I raced Brandon as a joke and got owned. Then on to Shawn and I destroyed him. But keep in mind that he can't drive so that's void, I guess. Now on to the closer race...

After driving around and finding a decent spot. Ivan and Kyle raced. Kyle definetly won so I was up against him. We raced 3 times. 1st time out, I got a nice jump and pulled ahead. I ended up winning that race by about a car length. 2nd race was going the same way but I missed third and he flew by me. Then the 3rd race I had a bad launch. I pulled ahead a bit at first but then around third gear he creaped up and passed me. So it looks like the tC can win against an auto stang if you get a jump on it.

I'm not saying these races are big accomplishments. But I'm proud of my 5-1 record compared to my 0-1356 that I got with my civic.

-ps- Sorry for yet another tC vs. thread.

yea i think im going to have to agree with ChefRaekwon on this one as well... i have been the kinda person to get ____ed when i hear bad things happen to people and everyone taking it out on them being quick to say: "driver error" "its your fault" ... in this case, all i can say is it must be nice that mommie and daddy can but you a brand new car to start racing the crap outta it with only 100 miles on it... to top that being your first experience driving a stick.... and finally dont ever put a sport compact in the same class as an American muscle car, especially when the Mustang is not even a GT... what do you expect a pat on the back???? by the way i was in a reck cause by irresponsible street racers... take it to the track

Yes streat racing is bad, but what can you do, people do it,. If they get caught, bye bye car and future. If they kill some one or them selves, same as before. And he already did it, so whats the point of bashing him so much, a simple, "hey you know, racing on the street really isnt a good idea. Maybe you should try taking it to a track where you can really experiment with your cars power and ability."

Breaking in your car. The way cars are made these days it isnt that big of a deal. Each person has a different way. I personally didnt have a break in period and guess what...my dad and everyone of his co-workers who work for a car company said its not a big deal. So please, dont be such an ___ to someone if they didnt "break in" their own car the way you wanted them to. If something actually happens to their car, its his fault, oh well.

(I rarely come into the tC forum because of the continuous rants and raves that no longer make this secion fun to read)

You guys can start a flame war all you want, if he wants to race then he's gonna race.
Hell I have to go pick up my tC day after tommorow and I'm sure as hell not even gonna go over 75 till ive broken 1000 miles. Its his car, he even took some precautions to limit the risk of injuries, thats more than most of these "killed this and this and this car today while going around the school" so called 'racers' . People want fast cars and they have them, people are going to push their cars and their driving limits no matter WHAT you say. Just stop flaming people over the 'I raced and KILLED this car today' posts. We know you dont like people racing on the streets but damn get off the soapbox already.
/rant

:edit: TC4me said the same thing before I could... well sorta.

I didn't mean anything by my last post at you. It was just mixed up with a bunch of "fight'n words" lol. And thank you for being one of the few rational ones (along with tC4me and Tenaj) in telling me that what I've been doing is wrong instead of going on a crusade about it.

And to Jake25: I like the mix of Juan's post and Chef's posts. Oh and I got my license on 1/21/03.. close though. Oh, and why don't you have a tC?

I'm going to try and be as nice about this as I can and I'm going to tell you through experience that living your life 1/4 mile at a time is not the best way. Please re-think what your family has gone through and what they would go through if you lost your life because you were street racing and lost control. I am telling you through experience that the criminal speeding ticket and two accidents I was in is not worth getting a speed rush. I have been in the ____s for the past year and am just starting to come out of it because my insurance just went down because I turned 19. It isn't worth it. You might think you're invincible but you aren't. The law or your luck will catch up with you. If you want to race take it to the track. The nearest track to me is 1.5 hours away and I want to take my tC there after break in. Hell if you lived in AZ I would meet you at the track and we could race my rents Mazda3 against you.

P.S. Does anyone else get a headache from reading the little default font size? This is killing me!

Kids these days... (This is coming from an 18 year old who by the way is paying for his car, unfortunately)

I've had my run-ins with racing. First week I got my car some neanderthal in a Mazda 3 thought it would be nice to race me. We both took off at a light and I accelerated a little faster than usual just to see what he's got... But then I glanced at my odometer and saw the number 300 on it, then I glanced up and realized this is a dark, dangerous, cop-filled road, and I realized this is not the most intelligent thing to be doing. I promptly braked and let the Mazda 3 have his "win" only to later find out that he flamed my car in a Mazda 3 forum, saying he won by 10 carlengths or so. I figured it's better off having a clean driving record than to be racing. My insurance rate is high enough as it is, given my age.

Ok. I'm glad you didn't post this till you did. I was gonna say something sarcastic and pontialy offensive to anyone doing somethin admirable just to make my point. Now I'm tired and my eyes DO burn from reading this font so I'm going to sleep.

Thanks again to therotman, tC4me, Tenaj, sublime, and BSP_5c10n for being civil.
