BestBuy screwed me. What about you?
I bought a pioneer headunit from them about 6 years ago, with a 4 year warranty(theirs) it messed up a week after I put it in, they sent it off, took 2 months to get it back, plugged it in, quit working again that day, another two months plugged it in in their parking lot and it started shooting sparks out of the cd port, sent it in got it back, had removed the harness in the mean time and they hooked it up and bench tested it at best buy, damn thing caught fire, store manager refused to send it in(should have been a replacement as the 4th repair was free replacement, I'd only used it 1 week in the 6 months I'd owned it, paid around $500 for it, and three days after I bought it, that model went away, well the manager wanted me to pay them somewhere upwards of $1500 to rewire my truck and install a radio that burned up(litterally) on their test bench right after I got it back from repair, I took said radio, harness, and manual and threw it at the a-hole, put a gash in his head, bastard sent it back, took almost a year to get it back from their repair service, ____er should have replaced it
Worked for Geek Squad last Christmas and there were a ton of returns like that. The manager wanted to be a dick and only cared about making a profit without returns (Must have been the security manager). Just keep on and never take no... The thing about the returning from the repair center not repaired also happens ALOT. Most managers will just exchange it in store, again it sounds like the manager being a dick..... AAAAaaand the repair time, the in store techs have no control over the time spent at the repair center. I actually got an emergency data retrieval check in for a person (for which they paid 600 expedition fee and 5000 for the data retrieval) and it took the repair center 6 months to do the work. That person ended up sueing the company and got something like 900k in damages from Best Buy.
BTW, the people who cause the biggest scene and stay for several hours ALWAYS get what they want. It's the polite people who don't take charge of the situation who get screwed.

I got the radio back, and never took it back in for service, if its over 50 degrees outside, it will quit working, going to replace it soon as I get around to it as I don't drive the truck much
since that day I have not had any trouble at that best buy though

I would go in shortly after the store opened so there are people around. Ask for a refund or exchange. If they dotn give it to you say i am not leaving until i do. i would then start speaking loudly telling everyone how they are screwing you out of money. Or skip the telling everyone. And just walk around telling all the best buy employees about it. Then have another item in your hand like you are going to purchase if they try and remove you. Then start saying why are you kicking me out for trying to make a legal purchase after you already stole my money i am legaly giving you some more of my money.
I've never had any problem. I think its the store you're dealing with.
i have 3 best buy stores within 30 miles, and I've bought $1000+ of merchandise from all 3. I havent had any problems.
I bought a gateway laptop early January 2009. I started having battery problems around December 2009. I wouldnt be able to bring it in until end of January because of my work (budget proposal for new year) and GeekSquad took it no problem at the end of January.
My warranty was 12 days past it's date, but I had made a claim for it being broken a month before. They were completely understanding.
I am surprised that corporate isnt more helpful over a $200 bluray player.
