Dealer Drama
I ordered my tc on what i believe to be Jan 20th and I was told 2 weeks or less. So yesterday, February 6th after hearing nothing about it, I got fed up and decided to check local dealer inventory. Come to find out, there were dealers with inventory matching my request. So I made some calls to see if they could make a dealer trade. Long story short, he waited too long and most were sold, but the one that wasnt didnt want to trade (Wanted an xb in return, dealer didnt have it.)
Well today I get this email from one of the other dealers i have been working with.
I understand that this is a hard car to get my hands on, and i understand that there is a wait for them. However, there were cars in the area he could have traded for if he kept his eyes open. All i keep hearing is 'Ill call you when it hits ground transport'. I know Im proly overreacting, but im tired of waiting. If this guy was 'on the ball' as his own manager put it, i should have had my car by now.
Any ideas?

Thomas:
I hope they have given you the VIN for your incoming tC. I ran a vehicle locate this afternoon and there are no tC’s inbound to McInerney Toyota. It could be that they are trading for the vehicle with another dealer though.
I do try to work on an appointment basis. If possible please drop me a line or call to schedule an appointment. When you arrive just have me paged.
Thank you,

cfire, i may have read wrong but you seem to be doing a whole "dueling dealers" thing. apparently you have a dealer that has ordered your car but you are unsure if they are dealing fairly so you are using another dealer to check up on them.
i would ask the dealership that ordered your car to provide the vin for your car. if they can't, i'd talk to the dealer that seems to want to help you. they'll probably throw in floor mats

yea, i planned on giving him a call in the morning. I know im proly just jumping the gun, but when i was told 2 weeks or less, that is what i expected. 3 weeks or so later and still no car, then i get an email from another dealer saying that he did some checking and there might be no car on the way, it kinda frustrated me. Ive already begun buying stuff in anticipation of getting this car, and all my stuff is showing up, but still no car.

if they "ordered it", they'll know they'll know where it is. it isn't random.
Hey, thanks for the help.
Im sorry, i should have clairified, I just have some things sitting around my house. I'm just getting a stock tc. I ordered an amp to go with my 2 Alpine Type-R's, and some cathods for the interior.
He said it is on a train to chicago, and that he will call when it hits ground transport. I know that the VIN may have slipped his mind. Hes not the brightest crayon in the crayola box.

I'm in the same boat bro, I'm gettin' tried of waiting and having to put up with dealer talk. My CC was charged for the deposit at New Years, and I was promised a stock tC about 2 weeks ago, and the dealer rep claims it's coming today or Thursday "the latest." He's had the VIN for about 2 weeks, and I've gotta drive 300 miles to go back home to get it on top of taking a day off from work.......
That junk better be there

sry. thanks ack154 for moving this thread for me. didnt realize it was in the wrong spot.
i got my VIN, should be getting my insurance tomorrow, and the car tomorrow or friday.he (the dealer) just seems to forget about things, and i guess this was something else. it seems like he might be new, and being a new salesman, err, retail sales consultant, I have been giving him some slack.
anyways, one last question. When he began looking for my car, he asked for a deposit. So i gave him my CC info over the phone. Wasnt he supposed to take the deposit? because my CC was never charged.

If you are free the weekend of March 3,4and 5th we will have an 11 Scion display at the Autorama Extreem in Cobo Hall. Stop by and check us out. I'll be there from TN. Hope to see you there. Later.
Wow, what an old post. Yea I got it, have had my car for about 2 full weeks. Its great, just way too cold to work on it. I put my subs in and thats it. Looking at my schedule, it seems that I work all next weekend. I'll see what I can do, becuase I would like to meet some other Scion owners.
