HIDXTRA HID conversion kit Review
With the HID kit has anyone had an issue with ignition. I do not currently have the HIDExtra kit nor do I have there ballast. I have to start my car and let it run for about 30 seconds for the battery voltage to stabilize enough to turn on both HID lights. I am pretty certain that the current draw is too high for some reason from my current ballast. I just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing this with the ballast included in the HIDExtra kit before I order one. (the ballast that I am using are from a very reputable lighting manufacturer and comes on very high end cars-so no they are not some cheap junk-just seem to be very demanding).
Also, has anyone tried to turn on the kit with the key off to see if both lights will ignite? This would be the ultimate test to verify if the ballast are low current or not.

Hello,
Our ballasts have ignitors built in and do not need you to run the car 30 seconds before turning on the HIDs. Our ballasts are also 35 watt ballast, is yours 55watt?
We don't carry 55watt ballasts for the following reason
1.) It only give 15% more brightness (not that HIDs aren't bright enough already
)
2.) It's 2-3 times more expensive
3.) It burns out the bulb faster because of the higher wattage and temp
4.) It's lifespan usage life is shorter than 35watt which means the faster you'll have to replace it.
Thanks!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
The ballast that I have are the Gen 3 automotive ballasts that are 35W with the ignitors integrated also. I do have the relay installed and still am having issues. I had an old Gen 1 set of ballast in my 05 Scion TC and never had any issues. I had a friend get me a new set of Gen 3 ballast and I am not having any luck with my 09 Scion TC. I know the wiring between the 05 and 09 hasn't changed, so it has to be the ballast. I might try my old Gen 1 Phillips ballast and if all is good, order a new set from you. My Gen 1 set was in my 05 TC for 116,000 miles and a lot were at night. I finally burned out a bulb right before I traded the car and really don't want to risk having a ballast go out while I am traveling.

Hi-
i have a tC 09, and ive been lookin around to get a good HID kit for my car.and heres my questions !
wat type of bulb do i need for my 09 tc w/ stock projectors ?
wat does HID Relay Harness do ? is it really necessary for our HID kits ?
Do we get any warranty at all ?
Thank you !

Hi,
High beam is usually used when there is no on-coming cars especially in a very dark road or driving on mountain roads. Most people don't use high beams unless they live in larger land and need to see farther. But it is not illegal, just makes the on-coming car hard to see if you use high beam on a very busy street or highway.

Hi, Relays are not needed for Scions, unless you order 2 HID kits for both low and high or with fogs, then you need the relay for the regular headlights but not the fogs. Then the relay is $16 with 10% discount using coupon code: tenpercentoff-m
make sure you order each kit and relay separately to get all the discounts, let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks!

Sure, most people get the low beams unless they use high beams alot.
