Default Koons of Annapolis wrecked my tc!!!

Note: I don't make a point of double-posting, but I felt this topic was relevant enought to post here in the Dealer Experiences section to show the kind of treatment you should expect from Koons Scion of Annapolis.

I took my car to the dealership for warranty repairs- things that shouldn't have needed to be fixed in the first place- and they wrecked my car!!! Someone parked my car near a fence & the idiot ___ technician pulled it out smashing the side into a pole, then continued to pull out, dragging it down the side. My quarter panel is trashed!!! The also took a chunk of rubber out of the tire & probably damaged the wheel.

They took it to their body shop & the estimate is somewhere around $750. They wrote to replace the quarter panel, but didn't include the price of the quarter panel, & didn't write to replace my tire or wheel, so I already know the repairs are going to cost more than that. I don't think they even included the price of paint!

I just bought my car on February 12- it was built in January- and it only had 450 miles on it. I told the dealership that I want a new car, which I don't think is out of line & I told them that if they will only repair my car I don't want it repaired there. They have refused to replace my car or pay for the depreciaton to it, they've told me that they will only pay the amount of the estimate from their body shop (which I know is incorrect), and that if I don't have it repaired there, they will not pay or give me a loaner car to drive until my car is fixed. They also have not offered to compensate me in any way for the time & stress they've caused me or my time off work so far.

Not to mention they didn't even do the warranty repairs my car was originally in there for. They couldn't align my car (it was off since the day I picked it up) because they haven't done any tC alignments yet & don't have the specs for it.

What do you guys think is reasonable?

On a side note, the sales department has continued to be great. They're the only ones who have been helpful to me at all. Brian, the Scion sales manager, is the only one who has apologized to me & displayed any sympathy for me at all. He also immediately offered to replace the wheel & tire. I've had trouble contacting the service department and the upper management, but the sales department has kept in touch with me and continued to be there for me to offer their support and help.

PLEASE READ UPDATES BELOW.

I am sorry to hear about your experience there. I think if it were me, I would look into getting a lawyer.

Go over their heads to the Scion Customer Experience: 866-70-SCION

They will get everything straight for you.

That is a better idea then mine. I would definately do that because it will save you time and money vs getting a lawyer.

I was thinking the same thing about the name.

But yes, try the Scion Customer Experience and they should
take care of you. Probably have to take it and get some
real estimates from real body shops and get an average cost
to take back to your dealership, or back to Scion Corperate.

Good luck man, and I'm sorry to hear that. I guess I shouldn't
_____ so much when I found a couple scratches on my
dashboard from the Webasto sunroof installers.

I had a dealership back my 95 s-10 into a concrete planter with full grafix, we called the service manager out to look at the damage their dealership had done. We got the estimate at the person who did my grafix and another painter. gave them the estimates which came out to about the same price $1500. My husband is the shop foreman at a toyota dealership talk to the service manager, or general manager. if not call toyota corp, they damaged your car you should be able to take it where you want to.

How about Kracker Scion? or maybe Wetback Scion??

I guarantee somebody heard that dealership name and thought to themselves, "no way I'm going there!"

Well, the meeting with the general manager went very well. He and the dealership are working very hard to make sure I am happy with the resolution of this situation. They have decided to replace my vehicle and it will be about 2-4 weeks for me to receive my new tC. They also offered to keep me in the loaner Camry they gave me until my new car comes in.

I am sooo relieved that they decided to do this for me! I was just so upset that I had bought a perfect car & it was ruined. But Koons has definitely held up their promise of customer satisfaction. They made a mistake, but they've made every effort to make it better. And believe me- there has been a lot of time & energy spent on their side to make this happen for me. I still am very happy that I chose Koons to buy my tC from and will continue to be a customer there.

Default Got my NEW new tC yesterday!

Well, Koons Scion of Annapolis came through for me & delivered a brand new tC to me... my second in 6 weeks! For those of you who don't know/remember, I took my car back to the dealership for some warranty work & they wrecked my tC that I had only had for about 3 weeks.

But they made everything right with me by getting me another one. And this time it only had 2 miles on it (4 on the previous one). My new tC feels very different from my old tC. The steering feels tighter, the transmission feels tighter, the brakes feel more responsive. However the seat & seatbelt do not fit me as well, but maybe they just need to be broken in. Plus, like my old tC, I think it needs to be aligned & the gearshift **** is loose.

I am still waiting to hear if they will pay to have my new tC tinted, since I had just tinted the windows on my old one two days before they wrecked it. I'm so happy to have my tC again! Now I can start installing all my parts that have been piling up since I didn't have a car to put them on!

Rose, Nate and Brian at Koons Scion are some of the greatest stand up sales people you will encounter in this area. Its the other half of their dealership that sucks a fat one (the other side is a Toyota dealership, parts and service). Watch out for their crappy parts department as well. Rose and Brian had to order my touch up paint 2 or 3 times before the crackheads in the parts dept ordered it . Brian offered to have someone deliver it to me at work as well when it came in but I told him that wouldnt be neccasary.

The service dept there also screwed up my rear bumper when they installed the rear wing on my car. During installation the holes that had to be drilled into the roof left hot metals shavings in the rear trunk door jamb and the bumper. These metals shavings melted into my clearcoat and they RUST if I do not wash my car regularly. Of course I did not notice this until 2 months later when I didnt wash my car for about 3 weeks.

Koons Scion sales = Thumbs up
Koons Toyota financing, service and parts = go to hell and die.
