Default Super Poor Service at Dealership

Just wanted to let everyone know how my last trip to the dealer went and to also ask what I should do in this situation. Well anyways, I go to the dealership to get my tC inspected. I'm off on the other side of the lot checking out the new Camrys when I see the tech come out to bring my car in the shop. He is completly unaware that I own the car or I am even watching him. He gets in my car and burns the tires and redlines my car across the parking lot. At this point I go talk to the assistant manager of the service dept. He gives me the inspection for free with a whole lot of i'm sorrys. He tells me to contact the general manager on Monday.

Is there anything else I can do in this situation. I am extremelly upset that I bring my car to a dealership to expect good service and they can't even treat my car properly. Any comments will be great.

IMO, you did exactly what you should have and you need to be sure to contact the GM on Monday. There's no reason for that type of behavior from the techs.

Thankfully we have a friend at the dealership we go to that does the service and don't have to worry about that sort of thing.

That's pretty bad dude.

When I ordered my car, they told me 3-5 days. I called on day 2 to see if it would be ready the next day. My salesman, Cory Nomura (DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM HIM), did not answer my calls or return my messages. I called again on days 3, 4, and 5. On day 5, he finally called back and said it would not be ready. Finally I filed a complaint against him to have him removed as my salesperson, and got my car on day 8.

Scion salespeople (and servicemen) can really suck.

Here's the thing, if he's doing that, it's because it's cool with the service manager etc. That dude would not have done it if it wasn't ok. You know what I mean? I worked at a garage and that type of thing just didn't happen, ever.

So, are these type of stuff more prone to happening at small dealerships or bigger and more well-known dealerships? I"m sure if a place had developed a nice reputation, they'd hate to destroy it by having a tech or salesperson do something inappropriate.

This toyota dealership that I brought it to is a very respectable place. It has been there forever and a lot of my family members have bought vehicals there. I know plenty of 2nd and 3rd time buyers of this dealership. I guess you can just never be sure when bringing your vehical anywhere.

I think you should milk it for all its worth and agree on a bunch of things such as oil changes and inspections and bla bla bla. After that file a complaint with corperate, once you have the perks in writing.

Could have been a new tech, or one with a bug up his ****, you never know. If the dealership has a good rep, then give them the benefit of the doubt. When you have a hundred or more employees you can't watch all of them all of the time. Make your beef known with the GM, it would help if you know the tech's name, and let him know that you are sure that it is an isolated event, and that you are sure that this type of behaviour is completley unacceptable here. You will do a lot better by remaining calm, and keeping your cool.

Once is an accident, twice is a trend, three times is evidence.
