Default TRD tC Supercharger Warranty discussion...

This thread is to discuss TRDs warranty stance when servicing the TRD SC, and its components....i have started this thread not due to personal reasons, as i own an xB, but to give a thread to vent experiences, thoughts, and frustrations on the support that TRD is offering onwers of its SC for the tC.....please keep discussion limited to warranty issues and such. Feel free to discuss TRDs business ethics, or whatever else pertaining to the subject. Keep all tech discussions to the appropriate forum.

thanks!
Corey

I will start....There are a few things going around the boards:

1. TRD has been giving a runaround answer (prolly scrambling to get the correct answer) as to why the TRD SC for the tC is having Oil Leakage issues. Post up Experiences w the WARRANTY and the respective dealers in reguards to this..

2. TRD saying you cant buy replacement parts, u must buy a new SC kit...post up thoughts and experiences on this as well

3. I dont really know of any other warranty issues/cust service issues, but if there are ANY w the tC SC from TRD....post them in here.....

doesn't the supercharge carry a 3 year warranty if installed at a dealer...and a 1 year if installed by yourself?

If you don't void your warranty by adding pulleys or headers or anything else then TRD will help you and if you were to have any problems it would be covered under warranty. If you do not have a warranty the they are not going to help you because you or the part you added has caused the problems. There really isn't any grey area here it is what it is.

As I stated before Vortech does not, has not, and will never sell internal parts for thier S/C unit's. They do however offer a service to re-build S/C's that need service. The only hold up right now with the TRD S/C is that TRD and Vortech have not worked out the detail of the re-build service. I'm sure one will be available in the future.

I want it to be clear that every single person who has stated they have a problem with their S/C has either changed the pulley, added a header or both. I have not seen one case on a non-modded S/C having a leak or any other issue.

^ That's what I thought... all those having oil leaking issues have done SOMETHING to it. I'm not sure why the need for a whole discussion?

This is a good example of how a warranty really works. If you buy the s/c and do SOMETHING to it and you have problems, they're not going to fix it under warranty, and if you think they are, you're nuts.

need was due to the orignal thread for the SC leak issue was thread jacked to a Warranty issue....i gave those members w concerns about said warranty an avenue to vent on....as opposed to cluttering up the other thread (14 pages long) with warranty arguments...
