Hey cliffud, I've got an 08 tC with the factory fogs. I am interested in getting a 5K conversion kit for the low beams and the fogs. Would I use 4 ballasts and have 2 wire harnesses, or can it be simplified somehow? Basically, can you explain the wiring for that, since I plan on installing this myself.

I can answer that... Yes you would need to have 4 ballasts and 2 wiring harnesses... that is the only way to do it for a lowbeam / foglight setup.

Probably due to the projector lens and the 4300 does have a white/blue to it but very faint. My friends MK5 GTI has 4300k and its like that too, but when you compare it to my 5000k its totally different!

ur 5000k totally white? im considering 6000k for the blue hint but more towards the 5000k for the best light output. im planning to do what mrpsxplyr is doing w/ the low beams and fogs on the 08.

thanks equinox for chiming in. you're the man!

about the cutoff having that slight spectrum of light... often times the cars that have oem hid have projector housings and projector housings by the nature of their construction produce light with that small spectrum along the edges of the light output.

all kits have shipped!

BTW - if you have trouble with your H11 kit not fitting... Make sure you're trying to install them in the LOW BEAM H11 hole...

All PM's have been replied to as well.

SleeperXB - great question.

My kits have the following:

* rubber injected ballasts making them waterproof.
* dedicated power wire harness with relay and fuse wired inline so your ballasts are not powered via your OEM plugs.
* great customer service.
* lifetime warranty.

To my knowledge, no other kits offer ballasts that are rubber injected and waterproof.

Thanks.
