Confession; I made fun of these cars for years. My 1989 GMC Safari van blew up a month ago, and needing a replacement for work I had been steered toward a Chevy HHR. Waited 3 weeks and couldn't get the deal put together. I was thinking about that HHR and wondered why I wasn't more interested in it. I had that GMC for 31 years, figured the Chevy should give good service...what's not to love, right? Working in the auto industry, I knew Toyota was reliable, if not exciting, and stumbled into a Scion on a lot belonging to a friend. I asked about that little boxy car, painted in a bright canary yellow (NOT my choice, btw), he said "Wanna drive it?" Had nothing better to do, so I did.
I was gone only 5 minutes...First 30 seconds=What's with that kid's muffler? Ten seconds later, as I'm getting up to speed on the Interstate="THIS CAR IS MINE!!!"

2005 Solar Yellow xB. I'm 70 years old, and haven't had this much fun in a car since my MG Midget in 1972.
