Default 08 tC - High pitch noise when turning wheel

Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time poster.
Most everyone here seems the friendly sort so I thought I'd ask about an issue before getting the run around by the mechanic.

I purchased an '08 tC with 120k not long ago. The car seems to run pretty well despite the frigid temperatures we've been getting in the Northeast, but one thing I noticed a few weeks ago is a high-pitched metal-on-metal scraping noise when I turn the wheel to the left.

The noise seems like it's coming from the driver's side and happens only after I'm close to a full rotation of the steering wheel. (I can't hear it while changing lanes for example)

The suspension seems stock but could probably use replacement.

I was thinking tie-rod ends, ball joints or a wheel bearing. The roads around here are severely bumpy with pot-holes everywhere, so I wouldn't doubt if one damaged something.

Also, the car seems to make a lot of knocking and clicking sounds when traveling over uneven or excessively bumpy roads. At first I thought it was just the way these cars were, but it could support my amateur ball joint diagnosis.

Thoughts, questions, comments? Thanks in advance!
