20,000 maintenance coming up soon!
Hello everybody! I have my 20K maintenance coming up soon and was wondering if I need to do anything in particular besides a regular oil change. I am also interested in switching to synthetic oil, is it still OK to do so, or is it too late? If so, what type of oil and filter should I buy? (brand, weight, size?) I'm new to all of this car stuff and just wanted some advice on how to maintain my car to last FOREVER :D
just an oil change, maybe a tire rotation too. Most of the other services and fluid changes can wait until 30k, tho it can't hurt to do them now if you don't mind the extra expense. If you want the car to last forever do the nominal maintainence and drive gently don't drive like maniac. How you drove is more important than doing excessive maintainence.
20k not too late for synthetic. if you switch on an older high-mileage car you are more likely to get oil leaks but you're nowhere near that age. Once you switch stay there, it's not good to switch back and forth. The only way to know for sure is to change the oil yourself, if you pay a shop to do it they might put in dino oil by mistake because the technician isn't paying attention.
