30K Servicing for xB...
Jst got my '05 xb in for its 30K servicing here at the Servco Toyota dealers here in Waipahu on the island of Oahu last week Friday...cost: $531.35! Since I had a short ram intake, they didn't have to replace the air filter at least!
One of the expenses in the amount of $21.60 was for their 'new' "aftermarket rim handling charge" to rotate the tires because they are heavier compared to the stock (not mine...but I didn't want to get dirty and so I had them do it...won't do that in the future, I'll rotate it myself), plus $20 for 'shop materials fees'. This aftermarket rim handling charge I feel should be contested...
Didn't change spark plugs as stated in the manual...
They replaced all fluids...trans, radiator, ...i did ask for mobil 1 synthetic oil...added additives to fuel system, coolant, transmission
...
hey, I know..but THINK they know more than we, being their factory trained, and are the distributors for Toyota vehicles for the Hawaii/Pacific Region...
just bit the bullet and went home..,did feel more powerful tho...
Had to go back today for a tire flat repair...asked the service writer who wrote me up last week about why the plugs were not replaced...he too thought the xB had iridium plugs---told him NO, only the TC has it... says will further discuss with service managers...
Now, I am thinking that these old established Toyota dealers still DON'T KNOW MUCH about the Scions and its servicing needs...
