5k service (e brake problem)
just got 5k service done with oil change, and everything seems to be in order however, with one small exception. it seems when the techs checked the brakes they did something to the ebrake. before taking it in, i was able to lift the handle midway and letgo and it would stay in place, aslong as i pushed the button on top of the handle. now, when i lift it midway, it springs back to beginning position, so for me to activate ebrake i have to pull the handle all the up and snap it in place. before i could just pull halfway and it would lock in place. hmm, anyone know if this is normal since they checked brakes or could it be a problem? thanks.
They just forgot to tighten it. It's on their to-do list of regular servicing. "Check and set parking brake" Take it back, or do it yourself. There's a thread on how to DIY on scionlife. Just have to search for it.

ah, so its not really a problem and will not result in major problems in the future? I actually like it a lil loose as now i can distinctly feel if my ebrake is really off or not. before it was tight but i had to check multiple times to make sure i had it all the way down. now i just push the button and it goes down by itself easy. it feels different, especially when i pull it up so i thought something might be wrong. so if i ever want to tighten it again i just take it back to dealer and they will tighten it? kewl. thanks for the info.
