Default Armor All Gels System - thoughts?

I went to Target and got some cleaning stuff for my car. MF Towels (I like saying MF cause it sounds hardcore like mother f***in towels), a MF coated sponge and some Armor All Gel (the blue stuff).

http://armorall.com/prod_gelssystem.html

Basically you don't need to fill a bucket and mix in your suds. I put about a four inch squirt of this stuff on my sponge and started spongeing my already rinsed car. It seemed to work right away. It didn't generate alot of drippy suds but it was cleaning pretty darn good.

Just for good measure I used another 4" squirt on the other half of the car. My car came out great. What was kinda cool is I didn't have to use a bucket, something I've hated since I was young, but then again, I kinda missed the bucket cause I didn't have any other place to put my wet towels and stuff.

I used some Armor All Window Wipes too, which worked pretty good (I soaped and rinsed and dried the windows like the rest of the car, using the wipes on them finally).

Not trying to be an Armor All fanboy (I hate their dash stuff), just trying to see if anyone else has used this product and their experiences.

Hmm, Eagle One recently sent me a free bottle (I can tell everyone the story if they want to hear it, its pretty funny ) of their Car Wash stuff... its similar to the stuff you described, its a bucketless car wash (still rinsing as you did but no bucket!).

I'm going to try it one of these days.

haha man, I still remember your post about MF towels it was pretty funny. Target's a good store, I bought a bunch of their orange thicker MF towels. I used it right out of the package on my glass and it left a bunch of orange fibers. I'm hoping that was just because I didn't wash them... I washed them but they're all sitting in a pile on my desk, I haven't washed my car since, so results on those towels are still inconclusive! ugh no time let me tell you...

anyways though,

I have a few questions for you if you don't mind... how well did it foam up? Was one spray enough for each body panel? Does it clean as well as regular car wash shampoo?

It seemed to clean just as well, surprisingly there was just a little foam forming on the sponge but it seemed to be doing the job really well. It left little trails of suds behind not the soppy piles o' suds I'm used to seeing dripping off a sponge. I was a little concerned at that but the car was getting cleaned so I kept going.

On the armorall site it talks about using 1 squirt per body panel but my xA is pretty tiny so I used about a 4 inch squirt for 1 half of the car (did the front half first), then another 4" squirt on the back half.

When I was all done my car was really clean so I'd have to say yeah it works as well as shampoo, or it did for me anyway, I'm hoping to hear some more testimonials.

Actually my wife's Matrix is dirtier than sin so that would be a good test hehe, but I'm leaving for San Diego for a couple days starting tomorrow. I will post again when I clean the Matrix tho.

The Armor All goop in the red bottle (wax) works pretty well too.

Simple Green works well on minor tar problems, though it will strip wax like most bug/tar removers.

btw, I tried my bottle of Eagle One bucketless car wash they sent me for free... its not that bad, it actually works pretty well. Has a very interesting smell.

I'm not sure if I liked it though (only had one less bucket, since I obviously still need a rinse bucket, but was still convenient in that regard), since it didn't lubricate as well. Also, I often sprayed more than the recommended 1-2 sprays, so sometimes it was pretty hard to rinse off. Cleaned the car well enough, though, but I usually don't have really tough things on my car other than water spots, dust, and perhaps the occasional REALLY small fly (they're more like moths? I don't know what they are).
