Default Changing to synthetic??

I have an 06 tC, and i have 18k on the ODO. Just wonddering if i change to synthetic, and take the oil to toyota when i get my oil changed, will the change void my service contract at all? I have the 9 free oil changes and tire rotation, just wondering.

It should not void your contract, but don't expect them to use synthetic for their changes. I would ask them what the upcharge will be for synthetic.

i am sure that toyota tecs would want to use their synthetic oil, and not some oil you brought in, but yeah, if they do the work with their parts on their facility there should be no issue with warrenty. i would expect that the synthetic oil they have is comparable to your preffered brand, but i would expect an upcharge for the oil cost but not the labor rate.

9 free oil changes? Are you sure its not 3 free ??

Toyota will do that, no prob. I asked a tech there, if I brought in my own oil(since it saves them $ on oil) , could they kick me down an extra oil filter in exchange = I got denied .... ohhhh well, it didn't hurt to try!

The 9 free oil changes is the extra toyota service contract besides the 3 from scion, which also includes free tire rotation and balancing.

Your partially - possibly correct. Accept, I can speak of the xA , you do not need a jack-stand/jack to change the oil. Only a oil pan + possible oil-filter wrench/removal tool ... other then that, your good to go.
