Claying car not effective anymore?
i clay my car every month, but for the last 2 months, claying has not been that great.
usually when i clay, and wipe off the extra lube, its so smooth, but now, the surface is jsut as rough as it was b4 i clay. any reason why? i tried switching clay bars and its still the same. something wrong with my paint ?

Agreed. I think you're way overdoing it with the clay. As for your question, I'm not sure. I think it may be possible that you have marred the paint with over frequent claying. Does the paint loook any different? It may need to be hit with a rubbing compound and polished up.
yea i guess the paint doesnt look as dark anymore. i have some meguiars polish, should i use that? i also have cleaner wax and nxt wax.
i was using the clay magic clay bar.
i dont have any rubbing compound, should i get some?

Monthly is far too much. I only usually do it once a year, but if I had more time, it would be twice.
To fix the paint. I would suggest getting some sort of polish. I prefer meguiars Gold Class or Deep Crystal system liquid polish. If you don't have a buffer, get one. You may want to go over the car again with the polish, just be gentle. Then follow that up with a good quality wax.

I really don't think you'll need rubbing compound. That may even create more problems. You want to start with the least aggressive method first, which would be a light polish. Try what you have first. Like it was mentioned earlier too, a buffer really helps too, if you have it.
