Question Clutch "creaking"

Hello Name is Lyndsey. I was wondering if you all could help me please?
I have a 08 xb manual with a few miles short of 116,700 miles. This car is "new" to me and my husband. So here is my question.

The clutch is creaking when I apply and release it.

As far as I know it has never been replaced. It does not feel like it is going out. Is it safe, do any of the parts need replacing and if they do what brand do you recommend for this car? If nothing needs to be replaced, is there any way of making the creaking noise stop? I hate that sound. Please note that I have a one year old in this car. I don't need a top of line race clutch just something dependable and safe! Thank you!

Lyndsey
