dring your xb after washing
Best scratchless drying method is using a leaf blower. Sounds a bit expensive but you'll be spending that much on nice towels to dry with since towels always pick up dirt and you have to replace them every few car washes. I've also used the California water blade which works fairly well but i stopped using it since. The way I dry my car is with a leaf blower first and then all the little stuff with a microfiber waffle chamoise (Big/Little 'blue' towel.) You can check out that microfiber towel at www.properautocare.com. You can also just go to Costco and get their bulk pack of microfiber and dry with that. but like i said you need to replace the towels every few washes.
Anything that touches the surface of the vehicle has the potential to scratch. Usually not because of the material, but because of items trapped between the towel and the surface. A leafblower is probably one of the best ways to dry your car unless you use, one of those distilled water kits.
My dad used to dry his car by going on the freeway as fast as he could for about 2 miles. He used to tell me that spooling the engine up in his old camry would help clean off the carbon soot in the engine as well.
I don't wash my car, so I dont have any problems. I think the best way to go is to use a automatic touchless carwash at the gas station, they do a good job on the scion.

one word you need to know when it comes to detailing cars...
MICOFIBER
after drying one panel you just shake the **** out and all the dirt and impurities caught up from the detailing just fly right out

You should not have any impurities flying off your 'fiber when you dry.

A "poor mans" distilled H2O kit can be made with a two gallon bug/weed chemical sprayer (plastic jug with a handle to pump and build up pressure) and adding distilled water in it. Good for a final rinse of the car.
As long as you have cool neighbors, a leafblower, absorber, microfiber and QD spray are the BEST way to go.
i take mine on the highway for abour 3 miles at ~80mph i live about 1/2 mile off the highway..when i get home i take a clean town and just tap the water thats left. usually the back is still pretty wet. comes out looking awsome. the leaf blower would work to..same idea. im afraid to drag a towel across the paint after hearing about how easily the paint scratches.
