Default Engine pinging

Hey y'all. I have a 2006 Scion Xb with 320,000 plus miles on it. I just sent out an oil sample and it came back fantastic. They said I could go at least 14,000 miles between oil changes. I have gone over 20,000 before! LOL! I use Mobil 1 full synthetic. I just changed out my alternator a few weeks back. Then I just changed out my air filter. Just after the air filter change, I notice a knocking, pinging when I first step on the gas, and when it shifts. Under a load I guess that would be. Any of you ever have this happen to you? Any info would be greatly appreciated! MrRantek24. P.S.. I also sent my oil sample report to Toyota. They contacted me and was happy that I liked the car so much. They sent me out a Toyota Duffel Bag! Not bad!!!

Pinging could be from a wide variety of things. Any chance you could describe the noise in more detail?
