the engine revs in park and neutral to about 2k. it has only happend a few times. i was wondering if any1 else has had the problem and what could fix it?

 

Does it just do it by itself?

When does it do it? In the mornings when its the first time you start up the car?

Do you leave your AC on when you turn off the car, so that it comes on when you start the car? I've noticed doing this can cause me to idle around 1.2k... (I have a manual, but it shouldn't make a difference here)

 

rite after i drive it a very short distance...like moving cars around the driveway or across a parking lot...i m just hoping its a few isolated incidents

 

does it stay at 2k? or does it revs up to 2k, and then drop back low, and go up 2k and repeats?

i remember my friend's corolla and another friend's accord did the same thing, forgot why

 

Mine does it by itslef sometimes but usually that is just normal.
