Default Exhaust leak or Top End tick / oiling issue

the 2.4 in the tC has recently been making abit of a ticking sound upon slow acceleration after a cold startup. It happens in the 1500-2000 rpm range and disappears once the engine warms up. I'm thinking this is either due to an exhaust leak which heats up and closes itself or to a top end oiling issue. I really hope its not an oiling issue cause the motor has only 20,000 on it. I have always been good with the oil changes and even do them early. Any ideas or tips on how to shake down this ticking bug?

I know the 2.4, especially toyota engines are a little loud.....but it it never made this sound before. its not super loud, and its definately noticable to the trained ear.

Prolly just your valves. Shouldnt be a huge deal if it stops after awhile I would think.
They arent oiled when you first start the car, so that is prolly why you are hearing the ticking.
