Default faint squeak during acceleration?

I have a manual tC, only around 40-50 miles on it. I hear a faint squeak during acceleration in any gear. It only happens when I am stepping on the gas, and it doesn't matter how much I step on the gas. It's also intermittent, happening around half the time. Anyone have any ideas of what the problem is, if it's indeed a problem at all? I'm probably going to bring it into the dealer to have them check it out during my first oil change, but just wondering if anyone else has this problem or know what it could be. The car runs fine otherwise BTW.

If its coming from the pedal its self..it could be the spring..just spray some WD-40 on the spring attached 2 the gas pedal..and U should be fine..If its the engine bay..Good luck!! LOL

I'm pretty sure it's not the pedal itself. The noise doesn't happen when I rev it a bit in neutral; it only seems to happen when I'm in gear. I'm thinking it might be the clutch. Does that even sound right? I only have around 75 miles on the car so far.

Just an update ...

I took in the tC today and had the foreman of the shop sit with me in the car and drive it around a bit. He heard the noise and immediately identified it as gear whine. Seeing as how this is my first manual transmission car, and reading up on what gear whine is, that sounds like a reasonable explanation to me.

Now I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to get rid of the noise. It's really faint and only happens sometimes, so it's not a huge deal. Different manual transmission oil perhaps?

I did ask him, he didn't offer any suggestions. It might go away in time as the gears become more worn, but that's just an uneducated guess on my part.
