Default Free oil changes from Scion

anyone get this and use it? If you did, did you need to make an appointment or go to the dealer which you bought the car from or can you go to any dealer?

Thanks in advance.

You can go to any dealer. You do not need an appointment--but it would not hurt.

It should be said though, that some dealer do actually require appointments. You'd have to call your dealer to find out - however, I'd really recommend an appointment... otherwise you'll be waiting a long time for a simple oil change (not that the appointment necessarily guarantees a short trip either, though).

What about if the dealership is only Toyota, does not sell Scion?

I made an appointment at my dealer and found that appointments don't mean anything if you have to wait for 3 hours! What's the point? ____ poor scheduling

i went to a toyota only dealership and they performed the first of my three free oil changes. i had to speak with the manager to get this done though. they initially wouldn't do it due to the paperwork involved to get reimbursed from toyota. i still had to wait about 2.5 hours.

for a 2.5 hour oil change , they would be giving me a 4th and 5th free oil change for making me wait that long !!! Why would you hold up a customer for not knowing how to do the paperwork ?? Ship the customer and worry about getting the $15.00 from toyota later ...

Going to the dealer isn't worth the hassle. I just do mine myself. Then it gets the oil I want and I know it is done right.

At my dealership, I just show up and they do it within a half hour...
Used 2 free oil changes, then switched to M1 5w-20 synthetic and I do it myself.

i've used two of the three so far and the only reason i have to wait longer is because i always ask the to send my car thru detail also .........and no extra charges and the box is squeaky clean when i leave.

depends on wether or not the dealer wants your business. I get poor service and long waits when I get my old Echo serviced. For the new Scion the same dealer is friendly and courteous, shorter wait, explains everything and did some extra work without being asked.

First off, they aren't really "free" oil changes, they are pre-paid oil changes, paid for in the cost of the car.

Beyond that, I just roll up to the dealer, go inside and tell them I need an oil change, tell them I want the Castrol Syntec Synthetic, and a half hour later, after drinking a cup of coffee and looking through the parts department, I'm paying the $8 extra for the oil and on my way.

Of course now that I'm past the three pre-paid changes, I'll be paying the usual retail from them. (Yeah, I'm going to have them do it, us gimps need help, and I'd rather have them do it than some oil-change place...)

I wouldn't know. I don't trust any dealer to not F up my car for a "free" oil change. I tried to get my 3 free filters tho and they said no so I guess I'm SOL. OH WELL!
