I was drivin down the road the other day and when my car hit 5000 miles the maint req light came on. Why do yall think it maybe sayin that? Cause it thinks my oil needs to be changed or what?

 

yeah, its probably your oil, just hold down your tripometer button and it should go off.

 

Yeah, it triggers that after 5K miles to remind you to change your oil, do maintenance etc. Check your owners manual or just do a search on these forums and I'm sure you'll find a bazillion other people who asked this same question.

Always a good idea to do a quick search before posting something new anyway just to make sure it wasn't covered already. That's in the forum rules.

It says maintenance required because it is required. Your first scheduled maintenance is at 5000 miles. Rotate tires, change oil, etc. Please read the owners manual. If it's not in there, use the Search function. If you can't find anything, THEN post a thread.
