Default Marine wax on cars?

Will marine wax do any damage to the paint on a car? I know that marine wax is usually meant for the gel coat on the hull. I'm just wondering if it's a bad idea to use it on a car. I was told it will last longer and is a better wax than regular car waxes like turtle wax.

If it were better and would last longer, they'd call it car wax.

That's just IMO anyway. I have no idea.
