got it off, not myself though.

had my cuz take it to a shop while i was working and they got it off.

i was scared to let him drive around with a centimeter deep dent in the filter, but it was only for like 6 miles or so. i also cringed at throwing regular valvoline 5w30 in there, but it was for only less than 12 hours. i'm still upset for mixing in that oil with my top notch eneos 5w30 synthetic that i had for the last 3 changes.

3 days later, it's running smooth and i'm back to happy.

now i want one of those magnets that attach to the oil filter to pick up small ____ in the oil.

Just get a magnetic drainplug instead.

I'm drilling my drainplug and adding a strong magnet to it for just about free. The magnetic straps work good on the filter too. Anything to help get that junk outta the oil is a good thing.

It's scary when you can't get those fu*kers off. Lucky for me, my next door neighbor knew what to do and brought over his oil filter pliers.

Now I hand tight and use K&N. Cause that little inch nut is nice. But I keep reading Toyotas should use Toyota filters. Which I may go back to Toyota OEMs so I'll have to buy my own oil filter pliers.

But using big ___ pipe channel-locks isn't bad idea for the impossible.

Techs have egos...make it impossible for the next tech. Talking more about "Male Egos." lol

You thought about putting industrial magnet strips along the drain plug might work too?

Glad you got it taken care of. It's OK to use the plier style wrench. Let it dent the filter; you're taking it off anyway.
