Default Question about synthetic oil

I'm going to change to synthetic oil this weekend and apparently once you go to synthetic, you can't go back, right? But can you switch between brands? Basically I have the option between Mobil 1 and Royal Purple? What should I choose?

Actually you CAN go back, but why would you want to?

All the current synthetics I'm aware of have no problem with changing brands or moving from syn to regular and back.

Makes most sense, though, to pick a brand and type and stick to it...

Mobil 1 is what i run.

You technically can go back to regular oil, but 1. why would you? and 2. if you switched it up a lot, i would imagine problems would occur. Obviously best thing to do is if you switch to synthetic stay with synthetic.

Royal Purple..0W30 ..I would use 0W30 in whatever you choose as it changes viscocity according to temp

Umm... any multi-viscosity oil does that...

It would be much safer to stick with the 5W30 recommended by Scion. 0W30 might get too liquid at high temps and fail to protect your engine properly.
