Default Rain-X

i use rain-x on my windows and i was thinking that maybe that is causing my windows to have streaks when i try to clean them? i've tried so many different ways to clean my windows (microfiber cloth, paper towels, newspaper, t-shirt, soap and water, windex, invisible glass, ) but no matter what if you shine a light on the glass you can see every streak i made cleaning the window. (-____-)

does anyone else use rain-x and have this problem?

....and yes, i know how to clean windows, i clean my boss's cars all the time and they don't get streaks...it is only when i clean my car windows

Invisible Glass, Newspaper, elbow grease. Rain-X last about a month, and remember, its wax for your windshield. So keep that in mind when your cleaning your windows. I use them both and have no problems.

I dont know what your doing wrong because i use invisible glass then use the rain-x. works great for me. Are you sure the streaks arent from the inside of the windshield?

try going over the widnshield with a dry plush towel. that should clear up the streaking.

have you sat under a tree lately? at my house there is this tree that leaves sap all over the car and is impossible to remove the streaks without a full car wash. i never park under that tree anymore.

dude I know what you are talking about... I just Stoner invisible glass-ed and then rainxed my windows and I have some INSANE streaking! Used newspaper, then went back over it with a MF towel... no good.

I think it might be because I clayed and waxed today, and some of the detail spray oversprayed onto the glass... I thought the invisible glass would take care of it so I didn't really think anything of it

its really bad, I've done rainx before on my sister's car and it was ok (still use paper towerls back then, I'm smarter now )... but this is to the point of dangerous

I'll try again with a clean towel tommorow morning

I'm also going to quit using newspaper (Today was my first time) and just stick with good ol MF towels. Probably should buy a waffle weave

an update... I went out today and just wiped it with a clean dry MF towel... so much of the streaking simply disappeared.

I decided to finish the job with some more invisible glass and the towel... I have really clean windows now

A good way to do it is spray on the product, let it sit for maybe a second or two, then wipe it up. Then turn to a dry side of the towel and rewipe/"polish" the area. It should turn out pretty well.

Its all about application. I never have problems after applying RainX to my windows. Takes patience.
