Default some noise from the front NEED HELP

Whenever I go in the reverse and step on the brake it makes noise coming from the front of the car. All I hear is "clunk" it sounds like I hit something with my suspention or something, but that's not all it wont do it if I step on the brake slowly. I have looked under the car to make sure that nothing is loose but no luck. One thing I know for sure its not my brakes. Please if anybody might have an idea what it could be write back.

Check your short shafts and CV boots. One thing you can do to test it is go to a large open parking lot and do a circle in reverse to the left and to the right. If you get any clicking in the process, you should have the front suspension and drive shafts checked over thoroughly.

I know you said it was not your brakes, but in some Toyotas the front pads shift a little when changing directions.....forward to reverse.....reverse to forward. It's usually heard as a slight pop or clunk. It's considered normal operation, BTW.

I've not noticed it in my Box, or maybe I'm just used to it. However, my Matrix and Rolla both did it......as did my wife's RAV4.

Not saying that's what it is, just offering a possibility.

Check your lug nuts. I had a similar problem - a couple were loose.
