How often, or after how many miles should you
replace the stock air intake filter.

 

when it appears dirty. just open your airbox up, take a look at the filter, if it appears to be dirty, change it out (filters are only about $5.00 for the oem replacement)

 

any help on how to take it out? I've looked at it and tried
to take it off by unlocking the clips, but it looks like
there is more to it than that

 

hmm... I'm no help there. all I did with my stock air box is remove it once.

 

It opens like a clam shell...it is hinged on the back.

i tried to take it out but there is a hose thats attached to the air filter box thats in the way which prevents it from being opened, do i have to remove this hose?

 

on the tC, all you do is move it slightly enough to get the filter out. there is a clip in hinge on the tc, and you just slide the tab out, and about 2 inches of room to work.

You should be able to move the top (clipped portion and tube) without having to remove that tube. You probably need to pull on the upper part, since it's held in my sliding the end tabs into the receptacle. hope that makes sense.

and I replace the air filter every 13-15,000 miles. Manual recommends it at 30,000 miles, naw, I do it every year.

 

I got it now, I just pulled towards me and up and it came off.
