Default Warm the engine before start

It's necessary to wait until the temperature light turn from blue to off when you just start the engine each morning?, If I don't do that I'd damage the engine?

I highly doubt it... its a modern engine, its just designed to start and go. Besides, your temps are really only going to rise for the most part after you start your engine.

This isn't an old diesel :D j/k

you fine just starting the engine and going without warming up at all. Just don't go all crazy and redline the hell out of it until it's worked its way up to normal operating temperatures.

Not true. It may be true that the engine blew up, but not from the blue light. Read the manual. It says to drive off immediately, and in the case of the automatic, it will not upshift into 4th until the blue light goes off. However, with either transmission, it cannot be good to jump onto the x-way and run up to 80 mph until the engine has warmed up a mile or two at city speeds.

I asked the service rep about late shifts at start up and he said that it shifts late while the blue light is on to speed up getting the engine to normal operating tempature. It is safe to drive with the blue light on.

He got that from the Owners Manual.
Page 96:"If the engine coolant temperature is low, the transmission will not shift into overdrive..."

No i didnt get it from the manual, I was at the dealer ordering my wing and asking questions. I have 1300 miles on mine and i have issues with it. It has fell on its face 5 times, i give it gas and it idles me into traffic. It has intermitent rough idle. Under fast excell it has produced a rotten egg smell from the vent. Ac is real weak at start up. and the tail pipe shows rust at where it connects to the muffler. The windshield wippers stop in mid wind shield. and sound like they are trying to move but do nothing. And the wing they said would be in the next day is not here 9 days later, and not a call to say hey its on back order and it will be here ?
