warm up time
Some people say Do warm up your car- some people say dont...I give my box about a 30-90 second start up each time. Since Its been getting down into the 30's at night- I let it warm up for a couple of mins in the morning.
ahh I hardly let her warm-up, I give her maybe 30-45 seconds but usually by the time Im out of my sub-division (I drive through it at around 10mph) my light comes off....Once winter is here, I plan on letting her warm-up much longer..
I don't know if you're familiar with them or care about their opinion at all, but the Car Talk guys on NPR list warming up your car as one of the 10 things most people do to ruin their car without knowing it. I forget the reasoning behind it, but they say it's better to just start driving and drive gently for the first 5 minutes or so. Not really an issue here in Texas, though. Supposed to be in the 90's today.
noworks, I have hear that reasoning before...I guess once u have the motor running the best way to warm it up is by putting a load on all the parts to get the oil pressures up? Ironicalls lubrication probably isnt its best @ idle. Personally I let the thing run for 10 seconds before I go but thats cause im always in a hurry.
