On the board you will find most like Mequiers or Mothers products . The basics should be something along the lines of , A good wash mit (Either microfiber or a sheepskin wash mit) , A bucket with a dirt collector (Small grill that goes on the bottom of the bucket to prevent your wash mit from collecting dirt in the fibers during washing) .Soap is a toss up , I use Meguiers Deep Crystal car wash (pink stuff in a bottle) , usually any decent auto wash soap is good (Avoid the Wash and wax soaps they usually dont do a good job on average) .For rims I keep it simple , soft bristle brush and dish soap for RIMS ONLY . Tire shine is optional usually use Black Magic here but I usually dont use tire shine. A chamois , or the big blue towels called (absorbers) . For waxing you will get a range of waxes most will recommend as well as polishes . When it comes to polishing and waxing its all personal prefrence . I have had good luck with Mequirers Gold Class and Eagle One's Nano wax . As for applying polishes or waxes , some prefer doing it by hand , if thats the case get you some microfiber applicator pads . If find using a machine is something you like , then go with a Porter Cable Random Orbital . The best thing to get though is Micro fiber towels , these things rock for removing wax and polish . I got an 18 pack for 10 bucks at Sams Club , and I have heard Costco and other big warehouse stores carry these . They reduces the chances for scratchin the finish ,and really take the excess wax and polish off the paint when your done . Again this is just a basic list to get you started , Good luck and Welcome to the Scion board and enjoy your 06
Also check out www.Adamspolishes.com for some videos (if you have highspeed internet) . Videos will give you some ideas on washing and waxing . Although I am not a big fan of washign a vehicle in the sun (in the videos) but thats just my personal prefrence .

What TCRS said, check out the videos on Adams Polishes.
You DON"T have to use their products, just use good name
brand products and you should be fine.
I'd stay away from most anything that Walmart carries though,
they just get the cheapest of the cheap. Hit a good autoparts
store for higher end products, or shop online.
