Waxed 4 first time. Help...
Well i waxed my box for the first time today. From what I saw it looked pretty good but I couldn't really see because the sun already went down. But when my porch light came on I noticed streaks. My dad even told me I'm gonna have streaks. What causes this? Once I applied my wax I used a microfiber cloth and wiped it off. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is it normal to get streaks. I want my box to be perfect but its not doing that right now. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. I wish detail shops here werent so expensive or I'd have them do it for me. Thanks again!
We have to wax in the day here due to humidity.
If you go to wax at night the moisture really gets to it before you do and the dried wax wont come off right because of the "DEW".
So maybe wait until tomm when it the sun is up with less moisture in the air and maybe you can wipe away the streaks.
When I say in the day,I mean in the daytime, not out in the sun! :D
I have aldo heard that the BOP color likes to streak!
Kinda like me when I was younger!

So what your saying is in the daytime, maybe under shade, try to wipe off the streaks? If I was to wax in the day which I heard you shouldn't do, would I have to apply the wax, and let it haze for just a little, then wipe it off? I know the sun will dry it up pretty fast. Let me know.
You should always wax during day light hours. Just like was posted above, the dew points are lower in the evening, and make it harder to get the job done. If you have a large tree, or a garage you can use, bring the xB out and let it warm up from the outside temp. Let it warm up for a while, then try buffing it again. MAKE SURE YOUR TOWELS IS CLEAN. As re-buffing may scratch your clear coat. Be prepared, you may have to use a little more then normal elbo grease to get the wax off.
Generally, if you follow the directions on the bottle, you should be alright.

yeah... i noticed that too. i've wiped it down with microfiber cloth and all..but streaks were evident. I attempted to analyze what was going on..and my investigation lead me to believe that using clean terry cloth was best.
So i bought a large 6 pack terry cloth for the wax project. I used the wax applicator to apply the wax..then let it sit for abit under my garage so it was hot enough to crust but not bake. Then i wiped down the wax with clean terry cloth... once that was done i parked my car directly under the sunlight to see any visible streaks or misty wipes. I used another new terry cloth to wipe it down...and it worked very well.
FYI : I used Meguiar's Gold Class wax ...and some meguiar's mist wipes for finish.
The key is to use clean cloth for wipe downs...and make sure there's no moisture either in the air or even on the cloth.
