Here in SoCal, they are (as of Friday) $3.99/ea with coupon (they will give you the price if you mention it though).

$3.25 was a deal because the service manager and I had the same truck ('64 GMC) and he was just being cool and gave me a discount,,,hence the reason I bought a case of 'em.

The link I posted has lots of different filter companies.....you should just search through there to find some other good ones. They cut 'em open so you can see whats inside and LOTS more additional testing.

NICE!!

I only looked through it quickly...maybe when I get more time I can read it.

Now Im ____ED OFF (maybe...again, I have to read it completely before I say that) the service manager recommended me a filter that might cause problems...I dont know what to believe now.

Is there a dealer that sells the OEM Toyota filters cheap online? I'd buy a case of 10 and pay shipping if the price were right.

could always add an AMSOIL Remote Filtration system. Would increase the oil capacity by about 2 quarts. Of course, most people would balk at the price... it's around $150, IIRC.

OK...looking closer at the thread ScionicMan posted, the two filters that are shown are TOTALLY different from one another....the one on the right is much fatter as well as being taller.

90915-YZZF1 as compared to the smaller filter that is "standard" on the Xb, is of the same diameter but about 1.5 inchs taller. The gaskets line up perfectly (as best as I can tell using only 20/15 vision) with both filters.

FYI - I have the larger filter on my Xb (about 60 miles on it) and will be keeping an eye out for leaks or funny red lights on the dash.

Will keep this thread posted.

I wonder why this larger filter isn't used originally if it does actually fit properly. It would cut down on extra part numbers.

Same filter is used on all Scion models according to my books so this could be used on all three models.
