I want to switch to Pennzoil Platinum on my next change (M1 0W-20 in now) due to what HeathenBrewing said above, it usually yields better wear numbers in engines.
Problem is, I can't find 0W-20 ANYWHERE here in PP. If anything ill just use 5W-20 but I would rather use 0W-20. I can find it online but don't really want to pay for the shipping, etc... Luckily I just did my change so ill have a few months to search for it!

I know for sure PP comes in 0w20….I seem to remember it being marketed "for hybrids", but there is no reason why a standard ICE would not be able to run it. I saw it on the shelf of PepBoys (San Diego) not more than a few weeks ago. Of course, availability may differ in your area.
0w30 - I have been hearing rumors for months now that it is going to be released "soon" (whatever that’s worth). Currently, it is not available that I am aware of.
If you do happen to see some PP 0w30, PLEASE let me know. I am dying to get a hold of some.

The 2008 xB calls for 0W20 or 5W20 weighted oil.
In the manual however, it does suggest the use of 0W20 Synthetic over the 5W20 for better engine protection, cold startups, and fuel economy. So if you are buying synthetic, go for 0W20.

05 XB & 05 XA
I just switched over from my dealers motor oil, to 5w-30 Royal Purple. I used a Fram filter this time. (lack of funds for a K&N filter) but will use a K&N on the next oil change. It was very easy to do. Didn't have to remove the cover from underneathe so I am really glad about that.
I wouldn't use K&N...
It shows excessive dirt in oil UOA's. AEM and AFE are much better options that show better filtration, if not better than stock filter while still gaining air efficiency.
I have an AFE Dry Flow filter on order and should arrive this or next week.

Are you saying not to use a "K&N oil filter" or not to use a "K&N air filter"? I was referring to the K&N oil filter.
(sorry I may have read what you typed wrong)
Woah, my bad man, haha. I totally thought the air filter. Forgot what topic I was in!!
As for oil filters, have you ever though of using OEM Toyota Filters? They only cost like $3 and some change online if you buy them in packs of 10. Probably can buy them right at your dealer as well but them may overcharge, as always!

While we're on the subject I always heard K&N air filters were good. Actually I was gonna buy a K&N air filter this friday and slap it on there to make my tune up complete. And you're saying they are not that good?
