Default Yellow Mait. Required

Hey guys!

I have a 2005 xB with right around 6000 miles. Recently I have begin to notice whenever I start my xB a yellow light comes on saying "maintenance required" and it goes it away after it flashes about 4 times. Obviously I need to get the xB into the shop ASAP but I am worried because I work full time and go to college full time and with final exams coming up and with work I will not be able to get my xB into the shop for at least another 2 weeks. I haven't noticed anything acting different with the xB, I have no aftermarket parts and its completely stock besides my rims. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if its as big of a deal as I am worrying it might be!?

Thanks for your help!!

Kyle

That indicator just means that you've driven over 5000 miles. It's there as a reminder to change your oil. Make sure your odometer/trip meter is set for the normal odometer and turn off the car. Now press and hold the control button for the odometer and turn the key to the on position. You'll see 5 bars in the display and they'll disappear while you hold the button. Once all five are gone the counter is reset and you will not see the indicator until you go another 5000 miles.

If your in college, you should have been smart enough to open up your OWNERS MANUAL, and read what it said.

with that said, when did you change your oil last? the dealer should have done this for you.
