Question: I heard somewhere that AIDS very unstable and can at any time alter its own genetic make up. Well by finding taking this remedy couldn’t the virus alter itself into an entirely different beast? (I’m not a biology major so please don’t drill me)

Probably. A virus is a living organism. It will do everything it can to survive. If you shoot an animal and only wound it in the leg, it won't just lay down and die. It will limp away and try to heal.

Certain things have been determined to be impossible, and this is one of them. Viri are either fluid or air passed, and as far as I know, none has made the switch. It would be akin to waking up one morning to see your gold fish resting on your pillow alive and well.

If you don't buy that, then consider this: There is nothing the news media likes to do than to scare the ever living bejeezus out of the public. Can you think of anything more terrifying than an air borne AIDS strain? Therefore, it's reasonable to conclude that this option has been ruled out.

 

yes, sorta. it's HIV you're thinking about, it can constantly morph into slightly different versions, and defeating HIV in one form doesn't do anything if you have it in other forms. Some people can carry HIV for a long time and never succumb to any effects. I read about these prostitues in south africa that have HIV but zero symptoms for 8+ years, still have never shown any signs of it and they're spreading it back and forth. Some people it just sits in there body and does nothing(like in 2/3s of chimps) and i know theres this 5% population that when they get HIV, it's so aggressive they have just months to live.

AIDS is just when you're past the point of ____ed.
