I don't really think that making all the guns go away would solve much. Let's pretend (just indulge me and pretend), that there was no such thing as a gun... it has never been invented. I am pretty sure that I could kill a person in at least 4 other ways without going through much trouble. If one person can do it, then there are prolly others that can do it (unless your Lance Armstong... ).

I understand all the points expressed - I may not agree with them, but I understand them. I was really surprised to hear that SeattleDave would own a gun. Maybe my initial opinion of him was slightly off-based.

C - I wish solving a problem like this was as simple as making guns illegal. But it's not... and making them illegal would not do much (as already stated). Hell, the guy at VT could have done more damage with a home made nerve gas or a bomb. Either one aren't that hard to make. But I understand that your problem is not with guns per-say, but rather the illegal trading of them and so forth. But we are always going to have it. It will always be around. So, we, as a whole, or as an individual must do what we think is needed to protect ourselves and our families.

No, I really wasn't arguing anything at all, but stating my opinion in which you may or may not agree with. But because you do bring a valid point that my opinion may have not been worded quite the way I wanted, let me try again.

I was simply saying that even if the guns were illegal, those who are doing the killings and the crime would find another way to do it. There are other things in the world that kill more people.

Regardless of the decions made about legalizing guns or not, crime will still exist. I would rather put my focus on the people rather than an object that people use.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Like I stated before did they outlaw fully auto guns because they waste precious amo? No they outlawed it because FULL auto weapons were made specifically for killing HUMANS. Weapons have been made since day one to hunt and kill animals. Guns are used everyday for practical purposes just like a Baseball bat or chainsaw.

That is why we outlaw certain types of guns compared to all guns
