I heard this on the radio yesterday and tried it. My wife was at home while I was at work (4 counties away) and it worked. I'm not crazy. When I got home I took my parents Dodge Ram out and we tried it on that and it worked on it too. It has to be done cell phone to cell phone.

I tried cell phone to cell phone... didn't work. I'd have to see it too! Maybe it's got something to do with the frequency of your remote...?

What service and what cell phone models do you and your wife have? You said you tried it on the tc? and the ram?

I need to figure this out...

This is totally bogus. It's just a trick to get people to make a fool out of themselves attempting it.

The frequency of the Fob is 315Mhz.

It doesn't work...to put it simply, if you can't hear the tone coming out of the transmitter when you press a button, your cell phone was not designed to pick up that signal and transmit it clear as a bell.

i guess its radio frequency it probably 'could'
but if its an infared it wont transmit.
If anyone on here has purchased an IR alarm, they really need to take it back to wal-mart fast. That's just ridiculous.

For the people that tried it...PLEASE post what phones you used and what car you tried it on. I really want to figure this out.

I tried it last night with two verizon wireless phones and it did work.

I want to know why and why not though.

I want to get to the bottom of this.
