Don't forget about f'kin Candlestick Park: A Hitters Worst Nightmare.

BTW, I'm pretty sure Willie Mays would have had over 755 too if not for windy Candlestick. Not to mention 2 seasons lost to the war.

Congrats to Barry Bonds!

With that being said. I am a huge Griffey Jr. Fan, and if he would had stayed healthy he would be the next one to break the record. Griffey Jr. will always be known as a great player, but what sucks, is that there will be the "What if?"

yes he hit 756. so what? what i find disdainful is the fact that he gets a baserunner to fill in for him after he hits. then after he struck out in one game at the bottom of the 7th or so.....he just left the dugout and was "done for the game". ummmm, your TEAM is still playing. if you can't even run the bases, at least sit on your ___ and watch your teammates play! baseball is 90% standing/sitting around....waiting for something to happen. i don't have much respect for that sport. if you hit a 140mph serve back in tennis 30% of the time, you'd never get paid. but evidently in baseball standing there with a ball coming to you, and hitting it 30% of the time will get you in the all-star game.

prob some baseball player is going to rip me for this. oh well. i've done my share of sports in high school...and baseball was not one of them so i must be clueless.

I'm a Yankee fan, not a Giants fan, and I don't like Barry Bonds... BUT-

Anyone who thinks steroid use makes you as good a player as a Barry Bonds? Keep dreaming. Bonds got to where he is now on skill, work ethic and pure determination. He admitted to taking 'some steroids' unknowingly. Guess what... some steroids don't make you that good. It's the same as college coaches who hand a linebacker some pills and says to take these. "What are they coach?" "Vitamins."

Look at the guys in the majors who got suspended for steroids this year. They were um... and um... yeah, nobodies. I think people are upset with Bonds because he is not a people person, and he broke McGwire's home run record shortly after it was set... and that was a feel good story.

Bonds is a great player. There should be no *. I hate that people would spoil such a momentous feat in the game. The media is killing baseball every year.

hahaha, what is the surface area of a tennis racquet versus a your average baseball bat? Not to mention the density difference between the two *****...

ok the games you see him leave after the bottom of the 7th is when the giants are either losing really bad or up by a large margin.....and if he does get on base and they pinch run for him its strategy.....he wont get another at bat and its most likely always was freddie lewis to pinch run, he is hella fast and is almost twice as young and also they wanna play the young kids to analize. also dont wanna flame you that much but obviously you don't understand the game of baseball and it wasnt your sport so you quit, its not just standing and sitting

Barry will be known for always having a 'tainted' record. Go A-Rod!!

I am not going to try and prove my case, I have REALLY tried to get involved with baseball but it does NOT keep my interest. I played hockey my whole life, kicked @ss at it and am extremley biast towards it.

The only thing with baseball that I notcied is that EACH play of the game is only about the guys previous stats. Nothing else its all about " Joe Shmoe hit an average of x last year and for the past 2 weeks has been averaging x lets see what he does.......... and he strikes out, next up we have...."

Correct me if I am wrong. But like I said wrong crowd to prove my point. Might as well of walked into a traler park and yelled "Walmart sucks!"

Baseball must be doing something right, much more popular than the NHL. Dont get me wrong, I love hockey! The ducks finally brought the cup home to So Cal! But baseball takes tons of skill and concentration (not that hockey doesnt, just different). On the surface it seems quite simple and repetitive, but I assure it is anything but...
