i cant possibly fathom how people think lil wayne is the best rapper. some of the things he says are repeated on a lot of songs. and sometimes the things he tries to rhyme are just ridiculous. seems like a kindergartner can write what he writes. just my opinion of course. nowhere near the top 200 rappers

my bad.....I had no idea that Z-Ro was "official" SPC.

Regardless, he is seriously underrated.

I knew Weezy was popular...but I didn't realize he was this popular.

Bottom line is this....This thread is going to be everyones own opinion on who the best MC is....but I gaurantee that there is atleast one undiscovered MC in every city that could put all of these mainstream HIP-POP artist to shame!

I could crush Weezy myself, and I aint BSn bout that! Ive been flowing writin and and laying down tracks with a Yamaha Motif 6 since I was 12. But flowing and rapping at local clubs for FREE dont pay the bills when the "Radio" dont want to hear what you have to say....because your product dosent consist of grillz, how low my chain hangs, and how much dope I have sold on the block and how many hos i pimp.....I do it as a hobby now and occasionally help out my old crew with their tracks or lay down a quick sixteen bars or throw a hook in every now and then......

So its cool to choose who you think is the best MC....ut I prefer something That I can relate to.....and alittle more realistic when listening........but, when Im rolling in my ride....its whatever...Nawmeen?

But that Wezzy do have some bagging beats...even if I cant understand WTF he's saying....I admit...I jam STUNTin like my dady.....It BANGS hard in the hatch!

Peace...keep it Hundred!

FREE Z-RO and Pharoah

2pac, Method Man, Game, are the only people I can listen to on anything. Some of the others have their SINGLEs but not albums you would listen to every track. When they are featured in something, makes it hotter. Nas use to be good, last album was JUNK. Whole thing was about Kelis, now she going around making her the 'boss' and he left naming tracks after 50 cent's mixtapes. (I'm talking about hip hop is dead track) I think best means 'always gonna be hot.' Jay Z has radio tracks and some creative lyrics, but nothing wow. Last few sucked to me. Cham/Papoose's voice sounds same track after track, even LLoyd Banks can flip a mixtape better.

I agree ^

Im telling you....If you want to hear something real, raw and true to hip hop......you need to head over to your local record store in the ghetto..(Most big Citys...Just look for MLK BLD) and check out whats local and underground....like I said before, I can bet that there is atleast one MC in every city that would wreck any of these HIP-POP mainstream artist.

Support your local talent!

HIP-HOP...not dead but Strugglin

HIP-POP..alive and kicking!

People always caught up on 'who is that' when I introduce them in tracks from people they never heard of. I'm always telling them, 'who cares, jus listen to it and see if you like it.'

I know what you mean...I respect alot of artist that are mainstream, because I know that they had to hustle everyday to get there......Take Mike Jones.....I dont really care for the cat...I dont think he's good on the mic, but I remember years back I went to a car show and saw him rappin on a wooden stage handing out free tapes...he's traveled all over putting on free shows and giving out tapes and cds for free, so I can respect that.

I respected him before he was a no show at a club for the DUB car show in Boston. Got to see DMC and Vida G that night instead. They forget all that when they get up there.

There are many underground artists that hold talent. Always will be. And the sad part is, most wont ever be heard by you or I.

One of the artists I miss the most is Big L. So much talent and was coming up when violence in the way. If you've heard his last album, then you know the lyrics are remarkable!
